No.ll02 / ~aurence Lewis ~ Extension of T~.~ ~' having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "Resolution No~ 59-283 declaring intention to establish setback lines along portions of proposed Fairview Street and McFadden Avenue" setting the date of hearing on December 7,1959, was considered and passed by the following vote: ~ves, Councilmen Noes, Councilmen Absent, CounciLmen Royal E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr., Dale H. Heinly, Bob Brewer, A. A. Hall None None On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following c~nications were received and filed: From the Planning Commission recomme~ziing approval of proposed annexation of territory described as an irregular-shaped parcel of land located generally in the vicinity of the intersection of Paularino and Newport Avenues, and a strip extend- ing northeasterly along the west side of Newport Avenue to the intersection of Main Street and Sunflower Avenue, designated as "Newport and Paularino N.W. Annex.' From ~he Planning Co~ission recon~ending approval concerning the proposed . ~cquisition of a school site in western Santa Ana, said site consisting of approxi~ ~ mately 22.2 acres, situated just west of Fairview Street and south of McFadden Avenue. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the recon~endatio of the Planning Commission was approved, and a ninety-day extension of time was granted on Variauce Application No. 1083, filed by Farmers Underwriters Association, to permit the construction of an office building for a regional operational and administrative office for the Farmers Insurance Group, on the interior area of property situated on the east side of Flower Street, between Memory Lane and the Santa Aha Freeway, subject to conditions. Communication was read fron the Planning Commission recommending denial of request for a ninety-da~ extension of time on Variance Application No. 1102, filed by Laurence Lewis and granted on May 4, 1959, to permit parkinE and sa]~ of new and used cars and for parkin~ for customers, in connection with automobile business on adjacent property on Main Street; and also permit use of the property, temporarily: for nursery business, on property situated at 1~01-O3-O?-11-15-19 So. Sycamore Str~ R. L. Hobson, lB 36 So. Sycamore Street, stated the owners of the property agreed to erect a 5-foot cement ~fence, but this has nob been done, and truckloads of tire: are delivered and stored in the building on the property$ also, there is a loud- speaker in operation which is very annoying. Councilman Hein~ disqualified him- self on this matter. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and car- ried, action was continued until the next meeting.
