<br />This being the date set for hearing on Amendment Application No. 296, filed by
<br />
<br />J. Ho Thayer, amending Sectio, A1 District Map 2-5-10, E~hibit B, to reclassify from
<br />the R-1 District to the C-1-PK District, property, apprexfmately 10 acres, located
<br />on the east side of Berrydale Street, north of Seventeenth Street, in the immediate
<br />vicinity of Garden Grove Hospital; no protests were received, and the hearing was
<br />closed. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the follow-
<br />ing Ordinance entitled:

<br /> change district classification on Amen~ Application No. 296
<br /> and to amend Sectional Dist~ ct Map 2-5-10"

<br />was intredueed, considered and placed on file for second reading.

<br />This being the date set for hearing on Amendment Application No. 297, initiated by
<br />
<br />the p2a~tng Commission, amending Sectional District Maps 17-5-9 and 20-5-9, as
<br />
<br />shown on Exhibit, to reclassify from the R-1 District to the A-1 and M-1 Districts,property
<br />bounded by McFadden Avenue, Tustln Avenue, and the A.T.& S.F.R.R. right-of-way; no
<br />protests were received, and the hearing was closed. On motion of Counc~lm~n Heinly,
<br />seceded by Brewer and carried, the following Ordinance entitled:

<br />Co~m~uicati~ was again read from the pla~ing C~ssion rec~mnending denial of
<br />reqUest for a ninety-day ~xteD~ion of time on Variance Application No. ll02, filed
<br />by Laurence Lewis and granted May ~, 1959, to permit p~rk~ng and sale of new end
<br />used cars end for parking for customers, in connection with automobile business on
<br />adjacent property on Main Street; also per mit use of the property, t~orarily,
<br />for nursery business, on property situated at 13Ol-OB-OT-11-15-19 So. Sycamore
<br />Street. Couneilma~ Heinly disq,,~!ified himself on this matter. On motion of
<br />Counc~lmaw Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the rec~mnendmtion of the Plan-
<br />ning Corem1 ssion was approved and the extension of time denied.

<br />Co~uication was again read from the Pl~ng CommisSion rec~aending denial of
<br />Variance Application No. 1203, filed by F.V.W. Properties, to reduce the required
<br />off-street parking in a C-2-PK zone, on property situated at the southeast corner
<br />of 17th and Lincoln Streets, in C-2-PK District~ and proposing to construct a
<br />warehouse with a gross area of approx!m~tely B7,500 square feet. Attorney R. Sam
<br />Barnes, lO16 N. Broadway, representing the Medical Arts GroUp and a portion of the
<br />Rohr's property east of this property, stated that the application does not set
<br />forth any real hardship, and this property can be utilized for any number of uses
<br />in its present zoning. If this application is granted, there is nothing to prevent
<br />this property from being utilized for a warehouse or a discount house by new owners,
<br />and requested that the action of the Planning Commission be upheld. Attorney George
<br />Tobias, B25 N. Broadway, representing the applicant, stated this c~any specializes
<br />in owning and leasing property of an industrial quasi-commercial nature thro~gbout
<br />Orange County. The property in question is east of the Santa Aha Freeway, south of
<br />17th Street, and there is no frontage on 17th Street, hut it is served by a private
<br />driveway leading from 17th Street back to the southern portion. This property was

<br />interests of Santa Aha. The property was divided some time ago into ~ e~m~
