<br /> On motion of Councilm~u Gould, seconded by Heinly and carried, the recommendation
<br /> of the Planniug Commission was approved and Variance Application No. 1205, filed
<br /> by Osen-OJeda Realty (Do~-ld Osen and Lillian ~Jeda) to convert, to neon, the e~ist-
<br /> lng real estate sign, which is 30 inches high and flush against the parapet of the
<br /> real estate office,, on property situated at 1626 East 17th Street~ in R-1 District,
<br /> was granted, subject to a condition.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by He~nly and carried, the reco~endation
<br /> of the Planning C~=~lssion was approved and Variance Application No. 1207, filed
<br /> by Francis W. Herrera, to construct two dwelling units in one building, with two-
<br /> car garage attached, on property situated on Fourth Street, one lot west of Verauo
<br /> ~treet, in R-1 District, was granted, subject to conditions.

<br /> On motion of Cotulcilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the recommendation
<br /> ,f the Planning Co~mfssi~ was approve~ and Variance Application No. 1208, filed by
<br /> Felipe O. Garcia, to move a single-family dwelling onto a lot which has one exist-
<br /> ing single-family dwelling, on property situated at 2~32 South Evergreen Street,
<br /> in R-1 District, was granted, subject to conditions.

<br />Communication was read from the Planning Ccamaission recce~ending approval of Var-
<br />iance Applicatian No. 1209, filed by Charles H. Alexander, to use existing building
<br />for a machine shop, on property at 3901 East Hazard Avenue, in the R-1 District, for
<br />a period of three years and subject to conditions. It was moved by Councilman
<br />Hubbard that the Variance be granted subject to conditions. Motion lost for lack
<br />of a second. The applicant stated he and his son desire to conduct a small lathe
<br />and milling machine shop with a mf-imum of noise. The Council having unanimously
<br />waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by
<br />He~-ly and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
