<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heiuly and carried, the recommendation
<br />of the Planning Commission was approved and Variance Application No. 1250, filed by
<br />Ruby Jewell Fouts, to continue operating a boarding hmme for six elderly men, on
<br />property at 510 Cypress Avenue, in the R-2 Distr~ct, was granted, subject to
<br />conditions imposed by the Department of Public Works.

<br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the recommendation
<br />of the Plem~ning Commission was approved and Variance Application No. 1252, filed by
<br />Joe Villalobos, to construct second unattached dwelling, on property at 443 Adams
<br />Street, in the R-1 District, was granted, subject to one condition.

<br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the recommendation
<br />of the Planning Commission was approved and Variance Application No. 1253, filed by
<br />Herbert O. Hyatt, to construct a building, approximately 138 feet by 82 feet, to
<br />house two offices and a sales warehouse, on property at ll3~ East 17th Street, in
<br />the R-2 District, was granted, subject to conditions.

<br />On motion of Councilman Gould~ seconded by Hubbard snd carried, the recommendation
<br />of the Planning Cce~nission was approved and Variance Application No. 125~, f~led
<br />by ~etropolitau Savings & Loan Association~ to reduce the required front setback
<br />frOm 60 to 50 feet~ on Lots i - Rh, Tract 3505, on property situated on both sides
<br />of Eastslde Avenue (Tract 3505) between Washington Avenue and ~Tth Street, in the
<br />R-1 District, was granted.

<br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seceded by Hubbard and carried, the recommendation
<br />of the Plauning Department was approved and Variance Application No. 1255, filed by
<br />Southern Pacific Company, to construct a sign directing traffic to a residential
<br />subdivision located at Fairhaven and Esplanade Streets~ in Orange, on property situ-
<br />ated in the 400 block south side of East 17th Street, e~st of Southern Pacific
<br />Railroad tracks, in the C-1-PK District~ was granted, subject to conditions.
