Leave of absence Dale H. Heiuly, Stanley C .Gould, Jr. and Bob Brewer Request .Plant Guard Service (Gerber & Company) Canvass Election Returns - 'Berrydale and Trask N.E.Annex' .0rdinance "Resolution No. 60-102 rescinding Resolution No. 60-60 to correct error and granting Variance on Application No. 1266 filed by Ed M. Rosenbaum, where Planning Co,,,~ssion recnmmended denial" and that conditic~ numbered 2 in Resolution No. 60-60 is hereby corrected to read as follows: That a block wall ~ot less than five feet high be ccmstructed as follows: (a) On the north edge of the existing drive, come~cing at the west property lime easterly to a point even with the garage om the abuttiug property to the south; (b) A concrete wall fence not less than five feet high along the west proper- ty line with a ten-foot radius at the corner of Pine and Sycamore Streets, said wall to end ten feet east of the west property line (which is at the end of the radius). Hall Ayes, Councilmen Noes, Councilmen Absemt, Councilmen On motiem of Counc~lm*~ Gould, secomded~y Hetnly and carried, the oral regmests of Coumcilmen Heinl~, G~,I~ and ~rewer were granted to attend the Mayors' amd Councilmen's Institute, League of California Cities, ia Berkeley, May 24 through May 28, 1960, and that they be paid in advance $2OO.00 each to cover the expenses of the trip. Application was presented from Gerber & Company, 311 N. Verdugo Road, Glendale, requesting permit and/or license to furnish plant guards and burglar alarm ser- vices, and stating they wish to furnish guard service, about June l, 1960, for the Collins Radio Company, 332~ Delhi Road. On recommendation of the Police Depart- ment, and on motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Brewer and carried, the re- quest was granted to operate a guard and merchants' protective service. This being the date to canvass voters' ballots cast at the 'Berrydale and Trask N.E.Aunex" and it satisfactorily appears to the City Council of the City of Santa Ana that notice of said Special ~unicipal Election was duly given and the Election was duly and regularly held on May 10, 1960, according to law. On motion of Coun- cilman Gould~ seconded by Brewer and carried~ the Clerk was ordered to open the Precinct envelope and proceed with the canvassing of the ballots. There was only one voting precinct established for the purpose of holding said Election, consist- lng of a consolidation of the regular election precincts established for holding the last general State and County elections. As a result of the tally, the Council determined and the Clerk declared that there were no absentee ballots voted at said election; that the proposition submitted to the Electors was: Vic~-~t~e City of Santa Aaa Shall the territory designated and ( YES ) known as "Berrydale and Trask N.E. ( ) Annex" be annexed to the City of ( ) Santa Arm? ( NO ) and that there were a total of 108 votes cast at said Election of which number 97 were voted "Yes" and 11 were voted "No". On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Brewer and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: "Ordinance declarimg the result of the canvass of returns of the Special Annexation Election in the territory known and designated as 'Berrydale and Trask N. E. Annex', and approving and declaring the annexation of said territory to the City of Santa Ana, California" was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading.
