Rosenbaum) <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hein~v, seconded by Gould and carried, the plans and speci- <br />fications were approved for the resurfacing of Main Street between Fourth and <br />Seventh Streets, Project No.102, Unit VII. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Gould and carried, the plans and speci- <br />fications were approved, and the Purchasing Agent authorized to advertise for bids <br />for the construction of a sanitary sewer north of Fruit Street to 17th Street and <br />old Tustiu Avenue, Project No. 26; bids to be opened June 6, 1960. <br /> <br />On motion of CounciLman Heinly, seconded by Brewer and carried, the extensions of <br />completion time from March 7, 1960 to May 8, 1960, were granted for the improvement <br />of McClay Street between McFadden and Chestnut Avenues, Project No. ll5; and <br />for the improvement of Chestnut Avenue between McClay and Lyon Streets, Project <br /> <br />No. C-41~ as requested by the Department of Public Works. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Gould and carried, the written recom- <br />mendation of the M~nager, dated May S, 1960, for salary step increases for six <br />employees, effective June l, 1960, was approved. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Gould and carried, the claim of C. J. <br />Segerstrom and Sons, in the sum of $675.00, for trash cleanup, seed and field work <br />loss fr~n bverflow flooding of laud to the City drainage ditch, was referred to the <br />Manager, Attorney and Insurance Carrier for appropriate action. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Gould and carried, the claim of Laney D. <br />Yates, in the sum of SI1,100.00 for alleged personal injuries and property damage <br />due to unmarked roadway as to the termination of pavement causing his automobile to <br />run off paved portion of Bolsa Street and striking a tree in direct line of travel <br />of Bolsa Street, was referred t~ the City Attorney and Insurance Carrier. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Gould and carried, the request from <br /> <br />Maximino Preciado, owner of La Pal~f~o E. 4th Street, for a permit to use <br /> the <br /> <br />property at the rear of the Cafe to construct a ~atio and use said patio for dining <br />and dancing, was referred to the Manager for recommendation and report. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Heinly and carried, the annexation <br />designated "South Santa Aha ~muex No. S" was declared null and void and all pro- <br />ceedings terminated under the Inhabited Act. <br /> <br />Communication and check dated May 10, 1960, in the amount of $18.00, for second <br />quarter license fee, was presented from Joe Fallas, President, Sutton's Inc., <br /> <br />2722 No. Main Street, requesting waiving of the 100~ penalty on delinquent license <br />fee. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Heinly and carried, the Manager <br />was instructed to notify Mr. Fallas that the 100~ delinquent penalty fee is set out <br />in the License Ordinance and is the law. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilmau Heinly, seconded by Gould and carried, that the request <br />of Jay C. Parry, 617 Eastwood Avenue, be denied, to close Eastwood Avenue to com- <br />mercial traffic between Sixth and Fruit Streets, and the Clerk instructed to notify <br />Mr. Parry of Council's action. <br /> <br />On motion of COuncilmsu Heinly, seconded by Brewer and carried, the request of the <br />Secretary-Manager, Orange County Fair, was granted to hang overhead flag lines at <br /> <br />25 locations~ advertising the 1960 Orange County Fair~ to be installed approximately <br />June 29th and removed not later than July 20, 1960. <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br />Counc~lma~ Heinly, seconded by Gould and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> <br />
