<br /> From the Board of Supervisors submitting a certified copy of Minute Order, and
<br /> advising Santa Ana Resolution No. 60-lO1, requesting the exemption of property within
<br /> the City from the levy of County tax to provide structural fire protection, was re-
<br /> ceived, filed and the County Clerk instructed to certify the receipt' of said request
<br /> to the County Auditor-Controller,
<br /> From the Californians Against Inequitable Reapportionment, Inc., advising CAIR
<br /> is a statewide non-profit ~corporation created for the purpose of defeating the State
<br /> Senate reapportionment threat, to appear on the November~llot as Proposition 15
<br /> (so-called Bonelli plan), and stating that the League of California Cities has
<br /> posed this issue by Resolution. Also, that more than 90~ of California legislators
<br /> and State press are now supporting the position of CAIR, and requesting City Coun-
<br /> cil's position of opposition to this issue by Resolution, with copy to their office,
<br /> Prom the Bureau of Census, U. S. Department of Commerce, submitting a prelim-
<br /> inary census count of 106,071 for Santa Ana, as of April l, 1960, and advising an
<br /> official announcement of popuZation will be made at a later date by the Director

<br />cipal Code, and submitting comments on Secti~ ~251 - Disorderly Condu~t, with

<br /> California Business and Professions Code~ Section 25602, and suggesting considera-
<br /> tion be given to repealing Sections 4251 and ~252,
<br /> Prom the City of Norwalk submittingcertified copy of Resolution No. 530 re-
<br /> questing the producers, distributors and exhibitors of motion pictures in this area
<br /> to cease forthwith the presentation of films to the public which are salacious in
<br /> nature~ etc., and constituting a menace to the morals of the citizens of Norwalk
<br /> and the people as a whole,
<br /> Prom the Chamber of Commerce advising their Board of Directors unanimously
<br /> approved a recommendation of the Chamber Water Committee to urge the City Council
<br /> to pledge $500.00 to the Feather River Association to act for the City in the edu-
<br /> cation program for water from Northern California,
<br /> From the Chamber of Co~erce advising their Board of Directors unanimously
<br /> approved the recommendation of its Parking and Traffic Committee that the proposed
<br /> new traffic Ordinance, as revised, be approved, and that City Traffic Engineer
<br /> Henry Mohle and Lt. Hma~rel Davis of Police Traffic Division be commended for their
<br /> efforts,
<br /> Prom Ramberg and Lowrey, Architects, dated May 7, to Gallegos Corporation re-
<br /> ference denial of request for ninety,day extension of time for the Police Facilities
<br /> Building; and answer from Gallegos Corporation, dated May 17, to the Architects,
<br /> requesting Council action regarding extension of time,
<br /> Prom Executive Vice President, National Safety Council, Chicago, advising by
<br /> telegram that outstanding achievement certificate was awarded to City for school
<br /> traffic safety education on basis of traffic inventory program coordinated by Chief
<br /> Edward J. Allen, and stating sponwors will announce engineering, enforcement and
