RESOLUTION NO. 81-174 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION 80-89 FIXING <br /> AND ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION FOR THE OFFICE OF <br /> CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, EFFECTIVE <br />JULY 1, 1981, AND REPEALING RESOLUTIONS INCONSISTENT HEREWITH <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA: <br /> <br /> 1. That the City Manager is granted the <br />adjustment in base pay as established by the Council for the <br />Executive Management Personnel of the City of Santa Ana per <br />Council action of 8/17/81. Pursuant to that plan, the base <br />adjustments in pay shall be 9 percent on July 1, 1981; 6 <br />percent on July 1, 1982; and 5 percent on June 1, 1983. In <br />addition, the City Manager shall be eligible for vacation <br />compensation and bonus considerations in accordance with an <br />evaluation system to be established by the City Council. <br /> <br /> 2. That said adjustment is computed on the base <br />pay effective at the time of passage of this resolution <br />($58,572), and shall be operative from and after July 1, <br />1981. <br /> <br /> 3. That said salary shall be paid in the same <br />manner and at the same times as other monthly salaries in <br />the City are paid, and shall take effect and be paid from <br />and after July 1, 1981. <br /> <br /> 4. That the City shall pay to the Public <br />Employees' Retirement System on behalf of said officer an <br />amount equal to five percent (5%) times the compensation <br />upon which such retirement contributions are calculated. <br />Such payments are not an increase in base salary. <br /> <br /> 5. In addition to the salary hereinabove fixed <br />and established for said office, said officer shall receive, <br />as additional compensation, the following employee benefits: <br /> <br />(a) Deferred Compensation <br /> <br /> Said officer shall receive as deferred <br />compensation an amount equal to one percent <br />(1%) of said officer's monthly salary. The <br />amounts contributed by the City under this <br />provision shall be submited to the terms and <br />conditions of the City of Santa Ana Deferred <br />Compensation Plan, and subject further to the <br />conditions that: <br /> <br />i. Said officer shall not have any <br />vested right in the amounts contributed <br />by the City until termination of <br />employment with the City; and <br /> <br />ii. The City will pay the total amount <br />of contributions plus any earnings <br />thereon to said officer upon <br />termination, resignation, retirement, <br />dismissal or death. <br /> <br />(b) Health Insurance <br /> <br /> The City will contribute the following <br />amounts toward the payment of the premiums <br />for said officer and dependents, if <br />applicable, under the existing health <br />insurance program (or a new program providing <br />substantially similar coverage and benefits): <br /> <br /> <br />
