RESOLUTION NO. 2003-021 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA TO AMEND RESOLUTION NOS. 82-110, 91- <br />066 AND 96-095 TO AMEND THE CITY'S BASIC <br />CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLANS TO <br />CHANGE ONE CLASSIFICATION TITLE IN THE LIBRARY, <br />DESIGNATE ONE FULL TIME LIBRARY CLASSIFICATION <br />AS "TERMINAL," ADD TVVO NEW CLASSIFICATION <br />TITLES AND AMEND THE CURRENT ANNUAL BUDGET <br />TO REALLOCATE FOUR POSITIONS <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br /> <br />Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Ana <br />requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position <br />classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and regulations <br />and the approval of the City Council. <br /> <br />On August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. <br />82-110 revising and re-establishing the Basic Classification and <br />Compensation Plan for Officers and Employees of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />On July 1, 1991, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. 91- <br />066, re-establishing the Basic Classification and Compensation Plan for <br />classes of employment designated as unrepresented Executive <br />Management (EM) and Middle Management (MM). <br /> <br />On November 18, 1996, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution <br />No. 96-095, re-establishing the Basic Classification and Compensation <br />Plan for classes of employment designated as unrepresented <br />Administrative Management (AM). <br /> <br />On June 17, 2002, the City Council passed and adopted Ordinance No. <br />NS-2500, which establishes the City's Annual Budget, authorizing position <br />allocations for Fiscal Year 2002-2003, and which sets forth the <br />requirement that alterations in the allocation of authorized positions be <br />reviewed and approved by the City Council. <br /> <br />It is the City's practice to assign job titles that reflect the duties and <br />responsibilities of the classification and are consistent with other <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2003-021 <br /> Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
