Providing a lump s~n salary payment in an amount equal to 4 1/2% (9 <br />salary rate ranges) of each such employee's base semi-monthly pay rate in effect on <br />December i, 1987, times the number of payperiods in which the employee received <br />pay for official time worked during each pay period between July 1, 1987 and <br />December 15, 1987. Said one-time lump sumsalarypayment shall be computed on base <br />salary only and shall, therefore, exclude all pay additives and other payroll costs <br />such as assignment pay, bilingual pay, shift differential pay, overtime pay, <br />deferred retirement payments, insurance cash-back payments, and City contributions <br />toward various employee benefit insurance progri~ts. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURrHER RESOLVED: That Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is hereby <br />further a~nended by addir~ thereto a new section as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 12. Employee Benefits for Confidential Employees. Each employee <br />in a class of employment designated in Section 3 of this Resolution as Unaffiliated <br />Confidential (UC), shall continue to receive as additional cc~upensation, any and <br />all employee benefits which they were entitled to receive on June 30, 1987, by <br />reason of prior action of the Council, except as modified below: <br /> <br /> A. Disability Insurance. The City shall pay one hundred percent <br />(100%) of the pr~nium cost for coverage under the seme long-term disability <br />insurance plan it maintains for management officers and employees of the City. <br /> <br /> B. Tuition R~imburs~nent. Confidential employees shall continue to <br />be eligible to participate in the existing Training and Education Assistance <br />Program provided for all regular, full-time employee of the City; except, however, <br />affected employees shall be eligible to receive one hundred ~ercent (100%) <br />reimbursement for tuition and registration costs up to a maxlm~ of five hundred <br />dollars ($500.00) per semester in accordance with the provisions of that prngrem. <br /> <br /> C. Other Benefit Improvements. Confidential employees will be <br />entitled to the same benefit improvements in bereavement leave, bilingual <br />assigm~nt pay, holiday leave, health insurance premiu~as and overtin~ compensation <br />options provided to represented non-management, general service employees. <br /> <br /> <br />
