009 <br /> <br />RESOLUTI{~ NO. 89-4 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMenDING ~ION NOS. 82-110 AND 87-95 TO D~.,;~'~, ADD <br /> <br />TO THE CITY'S BASIC CLASSIFICATION AND CCMPM~SATION PLAN <br />fOR O~'~'IC~RS AND M~°LOYFF.~ OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA. <br /> <br /> WH~IEAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of <br />Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a <br />position classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and <br />regulations and the approval of the City Co~mctl; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982, the City Co~cil passed and adopted <br />Resolution No. 82-110 revising and re-establishing the Basic Classification <br />and Compensation Plan for Officers and Fmployees of the City of Santa Ana; <br />and, on Dec~,her 21, 1987, passed and adopted Resolution No. 87-95, <br />re-establishing the Compensation Plan for classes of employment designated as <br />unrepresented executive and middle management; and <br /> <br /> WHflREAS, tb~ Executive Director of the Planning and Building Safety <br />DepOt has identified certain organizational chenges needed to provide <br />more t{m~ly, responsive and efficient services to citizans and developers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there is a need to adjust the compensation for certain <br />classifications in the Planning and Building Safety Department to provide <br />levels cc~,~nsurate with assigned duties and responsibilities and to ensure <br />recruitmont and retention of qualified individuals in these classes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, certain organizational and staffing improvements in the <br />Library Department necessitates the establishment of an assig, m~nt pay <br />differential for certain Librarian I's who are assigned "lead supervisory" <br />responsibilities; and <br /> <br /> WH~IEAS, it is now desired to amend said resolutions in order to <br />delete, add and change several class titles and adjust certain compensation <br />levels affected by said organizational and staffing changes. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> <br /> 1. Thmt Section 3B of Resolution No. 87-95 pertaining to Middle <br />Management classes of employment is hereby amended by changing the existing <br />class title of Assistant Plarming Director (MM) to Assistant Planning Manager <br />(MM) at no change in currently assigned salary level. <br /> <br /> <br />
