Jack Young, 2325 West Monica Lane, protesting the petition, <br /> stated sidewalks were desired in their area, and he had discussed the matter with <br /> man~ of the signers, who advised the full facts were not given them at the time <br /> the petition was circulated. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly <br /> and carried, the petition was received and filed. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the resignation of <br /> Kenneth E. Morrison, as a Member of the Board of Recreation and Parks, was received, <br /> filed, and the Clerk instructed to write a letter of c~aendation and appreciation <br /> for his service. <br /> <br /> On motion of Co~mcilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the request of J. L. <br /> Trudell, 217 No. Harbor Boulevard, for a dance permit, with a two=piece musical <br /> group to be employed on week=ends and a coin-operated music machine used during the <br /> week, where food requirements cannot be fulfilled as provided in the Ordinance, was <br /> referred to the Manager for investigation and report. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the following App~ <br /> <br />cations to Solicit Funds were granted: <br /> <br /> Orange County Association for Mental Health, during the month of May, and a <br />concentrated door-to-door Bell Ringer March, May 16th, in cooperation with the Cali~ <br />ornia and National Associations for Mental Health to work toward the improved care <br />and treatment of the mentally ill, for improved methods and services in research, <br />prevention, diagnosis and treatment of mental iliness and for the promotion of ment~ <br />health, and <br /> <br /> Young Men's Christian Association, through the sale of peanuts April 2hth <br />thrc,,gb July ~, 1961, to earn funds to go to camp. <br /> <br /> rec~-~endation of the Police Department, and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, <br /> <br />seconded by Brewer and carried, the request of ~alifornia Auction School and Servic~ <br /> <br />was granted, to conduct an auction on the premises of Treasure and Trash, 613 W. <br /> <br />Fourth Street, on April 15, 1961. <br /> <br /> <br />
