Construction of six- and eight-foot block sound walls to shield neighboring <br />properties from short-term construction noise and long-term traffic noise from <br />Bristol Street. Sound walls shall be the first site improvements constructed <br />after site clearing and grading to insure protection of neighboring properties <br />from noise impacts. <br /> <br />2. Construction activities shall take place only during the hours specified in <br />the City of Seats Aaa Noise Control Ordinance to reduce noise impacts durJn8 <br />more sensitive time periods, <br /> <br />3. All construction equipment, fixed or mobile, shall be equipped with <br />properly operating and maintained muffler exhaust systems. <br /> <br />4. Stationary equipment shall be placed such that emitted noise is directed'. <br />away from sensitive noise receivers such as residential areas. <br /> <br />5. Stockpiling and vehicle staging areas shall be Iocaled as far as practical <br />from occupied dwellings. <br /> <br />6. Every effort shell be made to create the greatest distance between noise <br />sources and receptors during construction. <br /> <br />7. The noisiest construction operations shall be arranged to occur together in <br />the construction program tn avoid continuing periods of greater annoyance. <br /> <br />Sianificant Effects <br /> <br />By creating the landscaped open space corridors along both sides of Bristol <br />Street, the project could attract pedestrians ¢o an area with projected noise <br />levels that exceed the upper range of noise exposure considered normally <br />acceptable for playgrounds and neighborhood parks. <br /> <br />Findina <br /> <br />Finding I <br /> <br />Facts i~ Sunoort O-f Findinas <br /> <br />The following mitigation measure has been incorporated into the project, which, <br />if properly implemented, will avoid or substantially lessen the noise effect to <br />n level of insignificance. <br /> <br />1. All play and park area will be located in the "park zone" identified in the <br />plan, with a minimum setback of 2.5 feet from the edge or the roadway, to insure <br />that noise exposure levels ere generally below the 70 dB level considered <br />suitable for public open space uses. <br /> <br /> <br />
