Leonard Motion carried. This being the date set for hearing on Amendment Application No. 375, filed by D. P. Leonard, amending Sectional District Map 36-4-10, to reclassify from the A-1 District to the R-4 District, property on the north side of Memory Lane, adjacent to the Spurgeon Methodist Church and almost directly opposite the north prolonga- tion of Westwood Street, all as shown on Exhibit A.A. 375A; Attorney Robert S. Barnes, lO16 North Broadway, representing the applicant, requested that action be taken later on Amendment Application No. 375, filed by D. P. Leonard, and that ac- tion be taken at this time on Preliminary Record of Survey 249, filed by Doxander P. Leo~ard, creating and combining two lots located about llOO feet east of Bristol Street and on the north side of Memory Lane. On motion of Councilman Heinly, secon~- ?reliminary Record of Survey 249 Doxander P. Leonard ed by Hubbard and carried, the request was granted. Ccmmmmication was presented from the Planning Department recommending denial of Pre~ liminary Record of Survey 249~ filed by Doxander P. Leonard, creating and combiningll two lots located about 11OO feet east of Bristol Street and on the north side of Memory Lane. Attorney Robert S. Barnes, lO16 North Broadway, representing the ~Ppli- cant, stated it is impossible to develop the property into R-4 Garden Apartments with a 30-foot dedication on the east side of the property as it would create a los~ of five two-bedroem units, and the development of the units as planned are in ex- cess of the requirements of the City; this is a legit'~m~te R-4 use of the prol:erty and in view of the existing type of restriction it would be impossible to constructl with a 30-foot dedication. Mr. Barnes further stated this is proper planning for this area as it is adjacent to an R-3 use and a Church, and the Garden apartments will have a total of 49 units. Also, rather than a 60-foot street the sidewalks could be narrowed or eliminated on the Church side. Tom Ridgeway, the developer, 465 North June Street, Los Angeles, stated this property would not be using the Hearing Amend. Appl. No. 377 Andrew J. Davis, Jr. Ordinance street. At the request of the applicant and on motion of Councilman Heinly, se- conded by Brewer and carried, action was continued until the next meeting on Pre- liminary Record of Survey 249, filed by Doxander P. Leonard. This being the date set for hearing on Amendment Application No. 377, filed by Andrew J. Davis~ Jr.~ emending Sectional District Map 3-5-10, to reclassify from the R-1 District to the C-1 District~ property on the north side of Westminster Boulevard approximately 325 feet west of Barrydale Street, all as shown on Exhibit A.A. 377A; no protests were received and the hearing closed.
