<br />for the applicants, stated the appeal was made to determine what guarantee would

<br />be acceptable to the Council that the third dwelling would be destroyed within one

<br />year. Mr./eXPlained the daughter who is now living in the dwelling that is to be

<br />destroyed needs to remain there until she and her husband can build a new home on
<br />
<br />a lot they have purchased and now own. When the daughter and her husband's new

<br />hcme has been completed they will move from this old home and Mr. and Mrs. Talaver~
<br />will destroy the structure. A year's variance was requested only to allow for suf-
<br />
<br />ficient time and the old:house should be destroyed within less than one year. At
<br />
<br />the verbal request of the applicant and on motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded
<br />
<br />by Hubbard and carried, action on Appeal Application No. 58 was continued until the
<br />
<br />next meeting.

<br />Street, subject to conditions. Upon the verbal request of Harold G. Pearce and on

<br />motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and carried, Prel~minary Re-
<br />
<br />cord of Survey 255, filed by Harold G. Pearce, was taken off calendar.
<br />~ motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Brewer and carried, action was contin-
<br />ued until later in the meeting on Preliminary Record of Survey 256, filed by Hube~
<br />Melton, creating two parcels located on the north side of Edinger Avenue between
<br />
<br />Fairview Street and Sullivan Street, subject to conditions.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, proper officials
<br /> dated March 12, 1962,
<br />were authorized to execute Lease 18185 and Supplemental Agreement 17902~with
<br />
<br />Pacific Electric Railway C~pan~ for five water mains crossing their tracks in
<br />
<br />Greenville Street, Fairview Street, Old Talbert Avenue, New Talbert Avenue and
<br />
<br />Susan Street, with a flat fee charge of $125.00 for the lease, em~ineer~ng, and
<br />
<br />inspection.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, proper officials
<br /> dated April 2, 1962,
<br />were authorized to execute agreement/with the Board of Supervisors for the City's
<br />
<br />purchase of properties that have been deeded for delinquent taxes to the State,
<br />
<br />reference letter frcm the County Tax Collector submitting list of parcels that can
<br />
<br />be sold by agreement to the City.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, proper officials
<br /> dated March BO, 1962,
<br />were authorized to execute agreement/with ~ames M. Montgomery for consulting engi-
<br />
<br />neering services on a portion of the proposed water utility facilities included in
<br />
<br />the Water Bond issue, which includes Bristol Street Reservoir Pumping Station, Wes~
<br />
<br />Santa Ana Reservoir Pumping Station and Wells, South Reservoir and Pumping Station
<br />
<br />Municipal Water District Regulating Stations, System Pressure Regulating Stations
<br />
<br />in northeast area and a Telemetering and Power Source Study.
<br />
<br />It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, that escrow
<br />
<br />instruction be approved and signed for certain properties and with the following
<br />
<br /> Escrow Instructions No. 864~ll-HRB, dated March 28, 1962, with George H.
<br />and Margaret G. Rose, for property for street purposes, on the sonth side of
<br />Willits Street between Fairview and Sullivan Streets, and the east half of
<br />Fairview Street, south of willits Street, in the sm~ of $9,000.00, and
<br />
<br /> Escrow Instructions No. 324690-ET, dated March 27, 1962, with John Otis,
<br />Mary G., Virginia May, Robert G. and Katherine Haley, for street easement on
<br />the east side of Bristol Street, south of 17th Street, in the sum of
<br />together with interest at 7% on said amount fram June 1, 1956, to close of
<br />
