Headlee, et al, Correspanding Secretary, Rosita P.T.A., for a crossing <br />~,-~d at this location. Mrs. Joe W. Headlee, 1102 North Berni Street, stated they <br />had contacted the Garden Grove School District requesting sc~e type of protection <br />for the safety of the school children. It was moved by Councilman Brewer that the <br />Manager be instructed to provide an adult crossing guard on Hazard Avenue in front <br />of the Rosita School u~til such time as a School Boy Patrol can be installed at <br />this location. Motion lost for lack of a second. It was moved by Councilman Heinl <br />and seconded by Hubbard, that the request for an adult crossing guard be denied. <br /> <br /> Councilmsa Ro~al E. Breckenridge, 1016 North Broadway, requested the Clerk to read the <br />cation from Attorney Robert S. Barnes, 1016 North Broadway, requesting a continu- <br />sace of ninety days frem April 19, 1962, the date presentl~ set for the trial of <br />the City of Santa ~na vs. Arrow Laundry. The c.~=--unication was read by the Clerk <br />and on motion of COuncilma~ Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, was received <br />and filed. On motion of Counci~m-u Heinl~, seconded by Brewer and carried, the re- <br />quest was denied. <br /> <br />C~?.mication was presented frc~ the Planning Department rec.~.,~.'.ending approval of <br />Preliminary Record of Survey 256, filed by Hubert Melton, creating two parcels <br />located on the north side of Edinger Avenue between Fairview Street and S,,11ivan <br />Street, subject to conditions. 0~ motion of Counc~]mau Heinl~r, seconded by Hubbard <br />s]ld carried, Prellmtn~a'y Record of Survey 256, filed by Hubert Melton, was approv~d <br />subject to conditions, and upon request by the applicant, the matter can be brought <br />back to the Council at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Mrs. Loule Boer, 912 North Lowell Street, presented a list of questions sad a lette <br />pretesting the unauthorized expenditure of appreximatel~ $8,600.00 for the repair <br />of the Municipal Bowl, without the work being submitted to bid, and requested the <br />Clerk to read the letter. The Clerk read the letter, and on motion of Councilman <br />Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the letter sad the list of questions were <br />received and filed. <br /> <br />Dr. A. Norton Donaldson, 2128 North Westwood Avenue, verbally requested that action <br />be taken on the request of the Orangewood Academ~ to sell chocolate cand~ bars, <br />both door to door and in business houses in the City, beginning <br />of Councilman Heinl~, seconded by Hubhard and carried, the request of Orangewood <br />Academy was ~nted to sell chocolate cand~ bars, both door to door and in business <br />houses in the City, beginn~ April 5 and for a period of ninety'days, subject to <br />the Submission of the application forms. <br /> <br /> <br />
