004 RESCI,UTIO~[ 93-002 <br /> Page 2 <br /> <br />(4) Lead pipe - Lead pipe shall be supported at intervals <br />not exceeding four (4) feet (1.2 m). <br /> <br />(5) P.V.C./ABS plastic (D.W.V.) - Vertical piping shall <br />be supported at each story or floor level. Alignment of <br />vertical piping shall be maintained between floors with <br />use of a mid-story guide. <br /> <br />(b) Horizontal Piping <br /> <br />(1) Supports - Horizontal piping shall be supported at <br />sufficiently close intervals to keep it in alignment and <br />prevent sagging. <br /> <br />(2) Cast iron soil pipe - Where joints occur, suspended <br />cast iron soil pipe shall be supported at not more than <br />five (5) foot (1.5 m) intervals; except that pipe <br />exceeding five (5) feet (1.5 m) in length, may be <br />supported at not more than ten (10) foot (3 m) intervals. <br />Supports shall be adequate to maintain alignment and <br />prevent sagging and shall be placed within eighteen (18) <br />inches (.5 m) of the hub or joint. Hubless or <br />compression gasket joints must be supported at least at <br />every other joint except that when the developed length <br />between supports exceeds four (4) feet (1.2 m), they <br />shall be provided at each joint. Supports shall also be <br />provided at each horizontal branch connection. Supports <br />shall be placed on or immediately adjacent to the <br />coupling. Suspended lines shall be suitably braced to <br />prevent horizontal movement. <br /> <br />(3) Screwed pipe - Screwed pipe (IPS), except as provided <br />in Section 1213(f) and Table 12-2, shall be supported at <br />approximately ten (10) foot (3 m) intervals for piping <br />three quarter (3/4) inch (19.05 mm) and smaller in <br />diameter and twelve (12) foot intervals (3.6 m) for <br />piping one (1) inch (25.4 mm) and larger in diameter. <br /> <br />(4) Copper tubing - Copper tubing shall be supported at <br />approximately six (6) foot (1.8 m) intervals for piping <br />one and one-half (1-1/2) inches (38.1 mm) and smaller in <br />diameter and ten (10) foot (3 m) intervals for piping two <br />(2) inches (50.8 mm) and larger in diameter. <br /> <br />(5) Lead pipe - Lead pipe shall be supported by strips or <br />otherwise for its entire length. <br /> <br />(6) In ground - Piping in the ground shall be laid on a <br />firm bed for its entire length, except where support is <br />otherwise provided, which is adequate in the judgment of <br />the Administrative Authority. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
