RESOLUTION NO. 62-161 REAFFIRMING THE INTENT AND <br /> SPIRIT EXPRESSED IN RESOLUTION NO. 60-77 ADOPTED A~RIL 18, <br /> 1960. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Santa Aha <br /> heretofore adopted Resolution No. 60-77 expressing the atti- <br /> tude of the City of Santa Aha on the maintenance of the <br /> integrity of the campus of the University of California at <br /> Irvine and the University community that would surround the <br /> same; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Santa Aha <br />does desire to reassure the Board of Regents of the University <br />of California and The Irvine Company of its intent to comply <br />fully with the spirit and intent of said Resolution No. 60-77; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 60-77 was adopted by <br />said City Council on the representation of The Irvine Company <br />that the proposed site for the proposed University community <br />would lie generally between MacArthur Bpulevard and the <br />proposed San Diego Freeway; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on June ll, 1962, a Petition was filed <br />with the City Council of SantAna for the annexation of approx- <br />imately 3500 acres lying Easterly of and adjacent to the <br />93,000 acres of The Irvine Company, said Petition having been <br />filed under the Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, and said <br />City Council did thereafter adopt Resolution No. 62-110 <br />designating the proceedings as the "Newport and Dyer S.E. <br />Annex", and it was necessary under requirements of law to <br />include within said annexation a connecting strip 300 feet <br />wide from the Easterly boundary of Santa Ama to said 3500 <br />acres to obtain contiguity; and said strip of land was <br /> <br /> <br />
