of geotechnical studies within those identified areas that are <br />susceptible to subsidence and liquefaction. <br /> <br />Sianificant Effect <br /> <br />The Plan area may contain contaminated soils due to former <br />commercial and industrial uses. <br /> <br />Findina <br /> <br />Findinq 1: <br /> <br />Changes or alterations have been required in, or <br />incorporated into, the project which avoid or <br />substantially lessen the significant environmental <br />effect identified in the Final EIR. <br /> <br />Facts in SuDport of the Finding <br /> <br />Implementation of the following mitigation measure, which has been <br />incorporated into the proposed Plan, will substantially reduce <br />contaminated soils effects to a level of insignificance. <br /> <br />The Planning and Building Agency shall review all projects <br />proposed on industrial areas on a proposal-by-proposal basis <br />and shall require affected applicants to submit soils studies <br />to the City. In the event contamination exists, the site will <br />be subject to appropriate Federal, State and local remediation <br />and removal procedures. <br /> <br />Significant Effect <br /> <br />Cumulatively, the Specific Plan will increase exposure of <br />Dopulations to seismic hazards in the Southern California region. <br /> <br />Finding <br /> <br />Findin~ 1: <br /> <br />Changes or alterations have been required in, or <br />incorporated into, the project which avoid or <br />substantially lessen the significant environmental <br />effect identified in the Final EIR. <br /> <br />Facts in support of the Findin~ <br /> <br />Implementation of the following mitigation measure, which has been <br />incorporated into the proposed Plan, will substantially reduce <br />earthquake effects to a level of insignificance. <br /> <br />SiGnificant Effect <br /> <br />In order to ensure maximum structural safety in the event of <br />an earthquake, all structures shall be constructed in <br />accordance with the seismic requirements of the Uniform <br />Building Code, subject to the review of the Building Agency. <br /> <br /> <br />
