48 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3_'?x3 9 -0 13t <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO <br />AMEND RESOLUTION NOS. 82-110 AND 96-095 TO EFFECT CERTAIN CHANGES <br />TO THE CITY'S BASIC CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLANS, AND TO <br />AMEND THE CURRENT ANNUAL BUDGET TO ALLOCATE AND REALLOCATE <br />CERTAIN POSITIONS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa/ma requires <br />the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position classification and pay plan subject to civil <br />service rules and regulations and the approval of the City Council; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. 82-110 <br />revising and re-establishing the Basic Classification and Compensation Plan for all officers and <br />employees of the City of Santa Aha; and on November 18, 1996, passed and adopted Resolution No. <br />96-095, establishing the Basic Classification and Compensation Plan for unrepresented classes of <br />employment designated as Administrative Management; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on May 18, 1998, the City Council passed and adopted Ordinance No. NS- <br />2348, which establishes the City's Annual Budget authorizing position allocations for Fiscal Year <br />1998-99, and which sets forth the requirement that alterations in the allocations of authorized <br />positions be reviewed and approved by the City Council; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, periodic review of the Basic Classification and Compensation Plans and the <br />findings fi.om various classification and compensation studies reveal the need to effect certain changes <br />to the Plans, and to allocate and reallocate certain positions; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is now desired to amend Resolution Nos. 82-110 and 96-095, and the Fiscal <br />Year 1998-99 Annual Budget, in order to effect these changes. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA: <br /> <br />1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is hereby further amended by: <br /> <br />a. deleting the vacant and now obsolete class title of Park Maintenance Worker I. <br /> <br /> b. adding, in alphabetical sequence, the following classification title at the monthly <br />salary rate ranges/effective dates indicated: <br /> <br /> <br />
