It was moved by Councilman ~y, seconded by Councilman Schlueter, that further reading be waived and Resolution 63-210 be adopted. On roll call vote: AYES, COUNCILM~: NOES, COUNCII~: ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: Harvey, Gilmnre, Schlueter~ Hubbard None Hall EEARING - STRF~£ NAME CHANGES Vice Mayor Hubbard opened the hearing on Planning C.--=-~ssion rec?~-.endation that street nmmes be changed as follows: (1) Arapaho Drive to Arapahoe Drive (2) South Townsend between Pomona and Occidental to Clara Street Main Street, Tuetin, between L~on and East City Limits to Chestnut Avenue 14~ U~-med street one block south of Pomona between Tewnsend -~ Center to Be named Occideatal (5) Unnamed street 6B5 feet north of 17th Between Mlllwood and 1~7 feet east of Nillwood to Be named 19th Street (6) East 19th between Sherry T~e and Millwood to East 18th Street Communications were received from the following: Clarena W. Jor~-~, 191~ E. 19th Street, stating the change is agreeable, but requesting adequate time to make the chauge known; a petition signed by apprcximatel~ 1~ families protesting the chqe of East 19th to East 18th Street; and a petition signed by apprcximatel~ 1~ residents pretesting the change frcm South Townsend to Clara Street. On motion of C~Aucilman Schlueter, seconded by Counc~m-~ Gilmore and carried, Council re- ceived and ordered filed the c.--,,,micatious. Dr. gatc~ Mac~, 1905 E. 19th Street, spoke in opposition to changing East l~th Street t'o- ..E~.'~-t l$th Street, a~l noted that ~he nami~p~f~t~Aunamed street north of 17~h Sl~eet and east of Millwood would be dependent on the decision regarding 19th Street. A. J. Swain, 1629 S. T~send Street, opposed change of Townsend Street. On motion of C~AuciZmanNarvey, seconded by Councilman Schlueter and carriad, Co~ucil instructed the City Attorney to prepare resolutions changing street n-wes as follows: Arapaho Drive to Arapahoe Drive Main Street, Tuetin, between L~on and East City ?.tm~ts to Chestnut Avenue Unnamed street one Block south of Pomona between Townsend and Center to be named Occidental CITY COUNCIL - 278 - December 16, 1963
