At Councilman Harvey's request, the Director of Planning explained that the Public ~tilities Commission would not permit access across the railrea~ tracks, an~ his department w~uld not recvmmend it anyway; that the thirty foot road is contingent upon the Senior Citizens development; that R ~ traffic will be about the same volume as that created by an R 1 development. Mr. Proctor stated that the project woul~ not be undertaken until plans for the access were worked out in the event the Senior Citizens building was not constructed. ~ark E. Sherman, 2014 N. Flower, agent for the Senior Citizen Project, stated that financing is being sought at present and that the Board of Directors had no objection to the thirty feet being used for a street, nor to the proposed project. It was moved by Councilman Gilmore, seconded by Councilman Harvey and carried, that a decision in the matter he postponed to the meeting of July 6, 196~. HE~RING - A.A. 501 Mayor Hall opened the hearing on ROSA Amendment Application 501 filed by Joseph Rosa to amend Sectional District MaP 5-5-9 by reclasSii~ying fram the A 1 to the R ~ district~ property on the east side of Wright between Catalina and Santa Clara. Planning C"mmfssion Resolution 5686 recummended approval. The Clerk reported that notice of the hearing was published in The Register on May 23, 1964 and that no written c~unications or objections had bean receive~. There being no response to the call for testimouy, the hearing was closed. On moticu of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Earvey and carrie~, Council approved the reclassification and instructed the City Attorney to prepare an amending ordinance according to Exhibit AA 501 A. HEARING - A.A. 502 Mayor Hall opened the hearing on N~ITESIDES Amendment Application 502 filed by Lawrence A. Whitesides to amend Sectional District Map 17-5-9 by reclassifying fram the A 1 to the C 5 district, property on the south side of First between Santa Ana Freeway and Newport Freeway. Planning Commission Reso- lution 5688 recommended approval. The Clark reported that notice of the hearing was published in The Register on June 5, 196~ and no written communications or objections had been received. There being no response to the call for testimony, the hearing was closed. On motion of Councilm~ Hubbard, seconded by Councilm-~ Gilmore and carried, Council approved the reclassification and instl-.,cted the City Attorney to prepare un amending ordinance according to w~bibit AA 502 A.
