It was moved by Councilman Herria, seconded by Councilmau Brooks and <br />carried, that the application for leave to present late claim be <br />denied for the following reasoms: <br /> <br />That the city has insufficient knowledge of the facts causing to <br />the illness of the ~r. Morales. <br /> <br />That the city is prejudiced by the delay of more tha~ si~ months. <br /> <br />And would mot now be able to develop the facts causing his condition. <br /> <br />That the proposed claim has no supporting facts showing that anything <br />done by the city or amy city employee did anything to support any <br />claim for amy damages. <br /> <br />That no document attached to the applicatiom amd no information <br />furnished ia the application gives amy information to indicate that <br />the City of Santa Ama did anything negligent or improper. <br /> <br />And that the claim does mot satisfy code requirements; and that <br />claim is improperly verified. <br /> <br />BID CAIJ~S Ga motion of Councilman Markel, <br /> seconded by Councilman Brooks <br /> and carried, Council approved <br /> plans a~d specifications and <br />authority to advertise for bids for the following: <br /> <br />Project 183 - construction of 17th fr~a the Santa A~a River to <br />~tmg Street; a~d Project C-122 - construction of Santa Clara fr~ <br />Broadway to Maim, amd 17th from Fairmont to 200' east of Fairmont. <br />Bid opening 9-20-65. <br /> <br />Project C-127 - grading, sewer, street improvements, and parking <br />lot at Mabury Park. Bid opening 9-28-65. <br /> <br />SALARY INCREASES Ga motion of Councilman Markel, <br /> seconded by Councilman Brooks <br /> amd carried, Coumcil approved <br /> Manager's report dated 9-1-65 <br />recommending salary increases for meritorious service. <br /> <br />SCH00LTRAILERS Emmett R. Moody, 721 S. Maxime, <br /> protested the placing of trailers <br /> for use as school rooms by the <br /> Catholic Church, next to his <br />fence, invading his privacy, amd he requested that they be moved to <br />a different location om the greumds. James Peacock, 715 S. ~axime, <br />supported Mr. Moody's statements. <br /> <br />Om motion of Cou~cilmamBrooks, seccmdedby Councilman Herrin amd <br />carried, Coumcil referred the matter to staff for comsultation with <br />the Priest, and property owners for a reasonable solution for a 6 <br />weeks temporary period, wherein the privacy of adjacemt properties <br />would not be imvaded. <br /> <br />S.A.
