The City Manager informed Council that contacts had been made with <br />sign representatives~ who requested that the matter be continued for two <br />months to permit study. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilman Burk and carried, <br />Council continued the matter to December 20, 1965. <br /> <br />ZONING VIOLATIONS On motion of Councilman Brooks~ <br /> seconded by Councilman Gilmore and <br /> carried, Council referred to staff <br /> for investigation and action~ <br />request of M. Gerst that zoning violations on Washington from Santiago Street <br />to the Freeway off-ramp be abated. <br /> <br />LEGISLATION After considering a communication <br /> from the City of Long Beach and <br /> hearing a report from Councilman <br /> Brooks regarding League of California <br />Cities action, on motion of Councilman B~ooks, seconded by Councilman Burk <br />and carried, Council instructed the City Attorney to draft a resolution urging <br />Governor Brown to consider as a special item at this Legislative Session the <br />matter of making it a felony to possess or use a Molotov Cocktail or other <br />incendiary object. <br /> <br />SEWE~ LINE Council considered the request from <br /> County Sanitation District No. 7 to <br /> purchase from the City at construction <br /> cost, sewer line running northerly <br />from 17th Street and lying in Tustin Avenue to its northerly terminus in <br />Tustin Avenu~ being a continuation of the sewer recently acquired by the <br />District from the City. The City Manager reviewed the past City policy, stating <br />that originally staff had recommended that the portion lying north of 17th <br />not be sold because the line was built to serve adjacent properties and had <br />been built with a capacity to accommodate areas outside of Santa Ana~ in order <br />to encourage their annexation to the City.
