President, Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce~ accepting the Public Works Director's report recommending no change in parking on First Street. CIVIC CENTER Robert rhomas~ Orange County Director of Building, presented the report and plans for the City-County Civic Center prepared by the Community Facilities Planners. Council also heard Don Hodgson of the O'Melveny &Mvers, Bond Attorneys, speak on financing programs and the Joint Powers Act. Also present were the Chairmen and members of the City-County Permanent Civic Center Committee. RECESS At 5:55 p.m. the meeting was recessed to 7:30 p.m. The meeting was reconvened at 7:30 p.m. in the Co~cil Chambers~ with all CounciLmen present. Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag~ the Invocation was delivered by the Reverend James K. Thomann~ Spurgeon Methodist Church. ORD. NS-830 ORDINANCE NS-830 CHANGING DISTRICT VOSE CLASSIFICATIONS ON AMENDMENT APPLICATION HO. 550~ F~,~ BY CLARA E. VOSE~ AND AMENDING SECTIONAL DISTRICT MAP 2-5-10 (EXHIBIT AA 550 A - REVISED) was presented to Council for adoption. John Harvey, attorney, representing the applicant~ requested that the application for rezoning be withdraw~. On motion of CounciLman McMichael, seconded by Councilman Burk and carried, Council granted the request to withdraw the application and declared the property remain under its original classification. HEARING - Hearing was opened on Amendment A.A. 567-GELKE~ Application 567 filed by B. E. Bruce Gelker proposing the amend- ment of Sectional District Map 17-5-9 by reclassifying from the R 3 to the C 2 district property on the west side of Lyon between First and Chestnut. Planning Con~nission Resolution 5754 recommended approval of Exhibit A. The Clerk reported that notice of the hearing had oeen published in ~ne Register on October 16~ 1965, and no written communications had been received. There being no testimony~ the hearing was closed. On motion oi' CounciLman GiLmore, seconded by CounciLman Burk and carried, Council approved the reclassification and instructed the City Atto~mey to prepare an amending ordinance according to Exhibit A.A. 567 A. HE~RING - Hearing was opened on proposed REFUSE COLLECTION change to service charge for re~se collection. Mayor Harvey read a letter from Lester Schwaiger~ President of Santa Aha Chamber of Commerc% which requested that the matter be postponed to provide the Chamber with time to study the City Manager's proposal. On motion of CounciLman Gilmore~ seconded by CounciLman Burk and carried, Council continued the matter to the meeting of November 15~ 1965. CITY COUNCIL - 396 - November 1~ 1965
