George <br />Townsend a Resolution of AppreCiation <br />from the City Council for his 23 years <br />of service on the Board of Recreation <br />and Parks. <br /> <br /> AWARD An award frc~a the California Division <br /> of the American Water Works Association <br /> for an improved safety record during <br /> 1965 was presented to Mr. Elmer <br />Austerman who represented the Water Division of the Department of Public Works. <br /> <br />HFARING - Nearing was opened on Amendment <br />AA 514 - ROHRS Application 514 filed by Calvin G. <br /> Rohrs proposing amendment of Sectional <br /> District Map 8-5-9 by reclassifying, <br />from the R i to the C 5 district, property on the south side of 17th Street <br />between Grand Avenue and Linwood Street. Planning Commission Resolution 5781 <br />recommended denial. VACATION Hear~ was opened on the proposed <br /> vacation of Olive Street between 4th <br /> and 6th Streets, and 5th Street <br /> between Flower and a point 300' west <br />of the center line of Olive Street. The Clerk reported that notice of the hearing <br />was published May IL, 1966 in The Register, posted in the area on May 19, 1966 <br />and that evidence thereto was on file; that no written communications had been <br />filed.
