Ns~-ger. T~e Clerk reported that notice <br />of hearing had been mailed to a~lJacent proper~y owaers on February 1~ with <br />evidence on file, amd that one ccamauaication ha~ been received from Charles <br />Schneider, 1808 W. E~lnger, objecting to an~ change in street plans which <br />would landlock a portion of his property. <br /> <br />Don Christeusen, 1517 East 17th Street, Chairman, Salvation Army Advisory <br />Board, explained they are appealing the requirement for the extension of <br />Stamford Street east a~ west, hisect~g their property; they concur with the <br />extension of Pomona Street; am~ suggested a~ alternate street plato to the ex- <br />tension of St~ford, whereby they would offer 30 feet lone-half of a 60 foot <br />street) to provide a north/south outlet to Ed~ngero Charles Schneider, 180~ Wo <br />Edinger, stated he ~as in favor of the application amd the alternate street plato <br />which would still provide access to his property. <br /> <br />Mr. amd Mrs. Antony Norovich, of Corona, owners of adjacent property to the <br />west, opposed the alternate plato which wonld require a dedication of their <br />property for the street going to Edinger in addition to Stanford dedication° <br />The value of having the resultamt corner property was discussed. <br /> <br />Bill Wemke, Chairmam of Property Division, Salvation Army, speaking im response <br />~o Coumcilmam ~cNichael'$ suggestion that 48 feet be dedicated by Salvation <br />Army a~ 12 feet by N~. Norovich for the north/south street, stated it would <br />leave 150 feet required for development by Salvation Army, but that if the <br />north/south street is not developed, Mr. Norovich would still need a 20 foot <br />mlmimmm driveway to accommodate his property from Stamford. There beimg no <br />further testimony, the hearing was closed. <br /> <br />It was moved ~y Cou~ci~w~n Rrooks, seconded by Councilmau Herrim~ that the <br />appeal be gramted and the conditions of the Planning C...--.tssion's approval be <br />modified to all~* the alternate street pla~ providing a north/south street to <br />Edgier rather than the extension of Stanford, and requiring dedication of 40 <br />feet from the westerly porti~ of applicant's proper~y for this purpose. <br /> <br />Couacilm~u Narkel requested postponement to the next meeting to be sure owner <br />to the east was notified. The plannt~g Director assured Council all properties <br />to the east would have access to Stamford Street and that ia addition to legal <br />notice of hearing, there ha~ been notice of a meeting to discuss alternate street <br />plans.
