Chapman Avenue Orange, California 92866-1591 Harry Thomas, City Engineer (714) 744-5544 Following Holmes & Narver's comple- tion of the engineering and construc- tion support for the $25 million Freeway High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) wid- ening project on State Route 55, DMJM+HARRIS, working as H&N, was contracted by the City of Orange to develop an interchange and design the bridge structure at Meats Avenue and SR-55. This project entailed the preparation of a Project Study Report (PSR). The engineering follows Caltrans Project Development procedures, and was prepared in Caltrans Metric format for approval by Caltrans. The PSR studied the feasibility of a light diamond-type interchange. The study also addressed the development of a widened overerossing bridge from 4 lanes to 8 lanes along Meats Avenue. It included improvements to the street approaches, two signalized intersec- tions, analysis of street lighting and HOV ramp metering, modifications and improvements to the existing drainage system, and design of retaining and sound walls. DMIM+HARRIS, working as Holmes & Nasver, is responsible for providing the design survey and for the prepa- ration of the geometric plans. Ad- ditionally DMJM+HARRIS is responsible for the identification of utility conflicts and right-of-way re- quirements. One alternative under consideration includes the addition of a westbound right turn lane on Michelson Drive, a southbound right turn lane and an additional northbound left turn lane on Culver Drive. Engineering Des~gn and Landsd~,ping s~rVices Highland Avenue Grade Separation Fullerton, California City of Fullertun 303 West Communweal~h Avenue Fullerton, California 92632-1775 Den Hoppe (714) 738-6864 DMJM+HARRIS, working as Holmes & Narver, prepared the preliminary and final design for the Highland Avenue Grade Separation in the City of Ful- lerton. The grade separation consists of lowering Highland Avenue and con- stmcting a 5 -track railroad bridge. Also included were extensive retaining walls, landscape design, walkways, and bike paths. DMJM+HARRIS' focus in- eludes the development of creative, cost-effective alternatives to meet each of these design challenges and to offer the City of Fullerton a range of sce- narios along with a comprehensive analysis of impacts and cost consid- erations.
