<br />Highland Avenue Grade Separation, Fullerton, Cali-
<br />fornia: Project Manager for the City of Fullerton for the
<br />$8.6 million federally-funded project. Responsible for all
<br />feasibility studies, public bearings, preliminary alignments,
<br />cross-sections, quantities, and cost estimates. Determined
<br />requirements and prepared right-of-way maps. Developed
<br />plans for temporary and permanent modifications to adjacent
<br />parcels and building to main~in access and operations.
<br />Provided QA/QC for the City through the design process.
<br />
<br />C.B.D. Parking Upgrade, Fullerton, California: De-
<br />veloped the site layout for the two main parking areas
<br />for the Central Business District in downtown Fullarton.
<br />Several parcels were acquired to accommodate these lots,
<br />and the design balanced the need to maximize parking
<br />and ingress/egress while creating a pedestrian friendly
<br />environment with hardscapo and landscape improvements.
<br />Additional design elements included the preparation of
<br />demolition, site, grading, elec~ical, and hardscape plans,
<br />coordination with utility companies for an Underground
<br />Utility District.

<br />Downtown Sidewalk Improvements, Fullerton, Cali-
<br />fornia: Project Engineer for this project which constructed
<br />decorative sidewalk in the downtown sector. Responsible
<br />for determining the treatments to be used, including colored
<br />concrete, exposed aggregate, concrete and brick banding
<br />to enhance the pedestrian corridor. Extensive public
<br />interaction was required with the local business owners,
<br />informing them of the pending construction, provisions
<br />being made to maintain pedesUian access to their business,
<br />and to address their concerns.

<br />Independence Park Improvements, Fullerton, Cali-
<br />fornia: Prepared the conceptual layout for site and parking
<br />improvements in conjunction with the expansion of this
<br />City park. The existing parking area was reconfigured
<br />to provide safer traffic circulation and maximize parking,
<br />and a protected drop-off zone was provided. The plan
<br />provides addilional parking by constructing two new parking
<br />lots on the site. These lots will be constructed in phases
<br />to minimize impacts during construction.

<br />RichmanfvValnut Avenue Storm Drain, Fullerton,
<br />California: Project Manager for this consultant designed
<br />project that involves the installation of 6,000 lineal feet
<br />of R.C.P., 1,700 l.f. of D.I.P. and 500 l.f. of V.C.P.
<br />Coordinated this design with the consultant, provided QA/
<br />QC for the City, verified location of all public and private
<br />utilities, coordinated pothole efforts, and identified the
<br />required relocations. Prepared the applications for the
<br />two crossings of the BNSF facility, channel entry of the
<br />County (OCFCD) facility, and the required OSHA permits
<br />for the jack-boring operation.

<br />Mr. Cervantes is a Civil Engineer with over 11 years of
<br />experience in highway and structure engineering and design
<br />for roadway and structure elements of infrastructure
<br />improvements. He has a solid understanding of drainage
<br />facility elements including hydrology and hydraulic cal-
<br />culations and design of detention basins.

<br />$2'~ Street Widening, Vernon, California: Project
<br />Engineer responsible for design and construction man-
<br />agement of ~-mile-long street widening project. Several
<br />methods of reconstruction were utilized including both
<br />hot and cold recycling of the existing asphalt, complete
<br />reconstruction, localized reconstruction, rubberized as-
<br />phalt, concrete bus pads, and pavement reinforcing fabrics.
<br />Project included coordination with property owners and
<br />several utility companies.

<br />Alameda Street Improvement, Vernon, California:
<br />Project Engineer for this l-mile-long section of roadway
<br />improvements along the Alameda Corridor. Responsible
<br />for preparing the legal description within the City right-
<br />of-way.

<br />1-710 Interchange Improvements, City of Vernon:
<br />Project Coordination representing the City for this ½-mile-
<br />long interchange improvement project at Atlantic and Bandiui
<br />and the AlamedaCorddor pre-construction mitigation studies
<br />project. Duties include supervising the work of con-
<br />sultents, preparing engineering work for the city; reviewing
<br />environmental and design reports; preparing engineering
<br />reports and power point presentations; relating to con-
<br />sultants, Caltrans, MTA, and affected property owners.

<br />CMD Sewer Design, Vernon, California: Design Engineer
<br />responsible for providing PS&E for new and upgrade of
<br />existing system within 1 square mile of the city limits.
<br />Design involved the analysis of the existing systems and
<br />inflows, sizing of the proposed lines and siphon, and
<br />developing horizontal and vertical alignments to minimize
<br />utility conflicts. Prepared layout, details, and utility design
<br />using CADD.
<br />
<br />Storm Water Management and Compliance: Project
<br />Engineer responsible for reviewing plans and specifications
<br />to ensure all city projects complied with NPDES permitting
<br />requirements and guidelines. Services including report
<br />preparation and storm water program overview.
<br />
<br />Century Theatre Improvements, Vernon: Developed
<br />the master plan of parking for the retail/entertainment zone
<br />as part of ~ Redevelopment funded project. The master
<br />plan included interim parking layouts for the different
<br />phases of development, and also included the preliminary
<br />layout for a parking lot to be constructed in the final
<br />phase of development.
