SURPLUS SCRAP On motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded <br /> by Councilman Brooks and carried, Council <br /> approved the request to sell individual lots <br />of scrap during the calendar year 1969, as~ they accumulate; and authorized sales <br />to be handled by Purchasing Division by a reverse purchase procedure. <br /> <br />FREEWAY COMMITTEE A report from the Freeway Committee <br /> regarding North Main, Broadway, Memory <br /> Lane, Santa Aha Freeway complex, was <br />referred to the Planning Commission for further study, on motion of Councilman <br />Brooks, seconded by Councilman Griset and carried. Virginia Ferry, 2312 <br />North Broadway was told there would be a meeting with property owners on <br />January 21st at Fisher Park, 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Bernard Dvijre recalled that he had <br /> complained about a sub-standard building <br /> on October 17th and nothing had been done. <br />The City Manager stated that it would be checked out and a report brought back <br />to Council. Mr. Dvijre also was critical of the fact that at the June 3, 1968 <br />meeting, Mr. Lee Hadley's entire remarks were not included in the Minutes <br />concerning the Business Promotion District. <br /> <br />An offer by Janice Boer of a set of Patent Digests requiring approximately 15 <br />lineal feet of shelf space was referred to the Library Board for study and <br />recommendation, on motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilman <br />Herrin and carried. <br /> <br />MINUTES CORRECTION Janice Boer objected to the fact that the <br /> December 16, 1968, Minutes did not <br /> show that Councilman Griset was <br />challenged with a conflict of interest in voting for the Business Promotion <br />District and that the Minutes did not include reference to her being ordered <br />out of the meeting. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Griset, seconded by CounciLman Carlson and <br />carried° that the Minutes of the December 16, 1968, meeting under "DOV~NTOV~N <br />MALL~ ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 236" be changed to include the challenge of <br />Councilman Griset's right to vote and his determination, after consultation <br />with the City Attorney, that he could not disqualify himself for conflict of <br />interest on the basis of personal financial gain. <br /> <br />A motion by Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Carlson, to adhere <br />to Mrs. Boer's request to show the number of times she had been ordered <br />out of Council meetings was withdrawn after Mrs. Boer objected to the wording. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />106 <br /> <br />January 20, 1969 <br /> <br /> <br />
