<br />C. <br /> <br />D. <br /> <br />E. <br /> <br />Street Level Proficiencv In Spanish. A Police Officer or <br />Police Sergeant who successfully meets the "Street Level <br />Proficiency" requirements set out in the departmental <br />Spanish training program shall be paid a bilingual pay <br />differential in an amount equal to the product obtained <br />by multiplying the base salary rate being paid to an <br />employee in the rank of Police Officer at Step "E" by two <br />and one-half percent (2.5%) (five [5] salary rate <br />ranges) . <br /> <br />Employees receiving "Street Level Proficiency" incentive <br />pay may be required, as a condition of continued <br />eligibility to receive such incentive pay, to <br />successfully complete an eight (8) hour refresher course <br />once every twelve months from the date of initial <br />certification. <br /> <br />Complex Level Proficiencv In Spanish. All employees in <br />the classifications of Police Officer and Police Sergeant <br />who successfully meet the "Complex Level Proficiency" <br />requirements set out in the departmental Spanish training <br />program shall be paid a bilingual pay differential in an <br />amount equal to the product obtained by multiplying the <br />Step "E" base salary rate of Police Officer by ten (10) <br />salary rate ranges (5.0%). <br /> <br />All non-sworn employees in classifications represented by <br />this Agreement shall be paid a bilingual pay differential <br />of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) per month after <br />successfully meeting the requirements for "complex level <br />proficiency. " <br /> <br />All assignments to positions set forth in Sections 1, 2, 3 <br />above of sworn and non-sworn personnel shall be made or <br />revoked in a fair manner at the discretion of the Police <br />Chief. <br /> <br />5.4 <br /> <br />Temporarv UPGrade AssiGnment Pav. The parties acknowledge <br />that from time to time it may be necessary for the department <br />to fill a vacant, full-time budgeted, higher-level position. <br />The parties agree that such a position may be filled by an <br />eligible unit member for an initial period of up to six (6) <br />months, and at the discretion of the Chief of Police, for an <br />additional six (6) months; and that the employee assigned to <br />fill such a position shall receive Temporary Upgrade <br />Assignment Pay as set forth below: <br /> <br />5.5 <br /> <br />16 <br />
