<br />A. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />EliGibilitv <br /> <br />Full-time employees shall be assigned to fill a vacant, <br />full-time budgeted, higher-level position, and shall <br />receive Temporary Upgrade Assignment Pay for filling that <br />position, when the occupier of that position is not <br />performing the duties of that position for a period of <br />two (2) consecutive calendar weeks or more. An employee <br />filling a position under this section who is absent for <br />two (2) days or less during the two (2) consecuti ve <br />calendar week period will not lose his or her eligibility <br />for Temporary Upgrade Assignment Pay; however, the days <br />of absence shall not be counted in the computation of the <br />two week period. <br /> <br />In computing qualifying service or temporary upgrade <br />assignment pay only full days of actual duty shall be <br />included. Partial days shall not be combined to make <br />full days unless they are normally granted holiday hours. <br />Normally granted holidays will be included in computing <br />actual duty days. <br /> <br />Employees holding the position immediately subordinate to <br />the vacant, full-time, budgeted, higher-level position to <br />be filled shall be given first consideration to said <br />position consistent with the operational needs of the <br />department. When there is more than one (1) employee <br />holding the position immediately subordinate to the <br />vacant, full-time, budgeted, higher-level position to be <br />filled, the most senior employee holding one of the <br />immediately subordinate positions shall be assigned to <br />said position consistent with the operational needs of <br />the department. <br /> <br />Non-permanent employees (probationary, part-time, <br />seasonal, etc.) and employees performing work above their <br />regular class in a training capacity shall not be <br />assigned to a vacant, full-time, budgeted, higher-level <br />position in accordance with this section unless <br />specifically authorized by the City Manager. <br /> <br />Compensation <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />After an employee has served two (2) consecutive <br />calendar weeks in a vacant, full-time, budgeted, <br />higher-level position, he shall be compensated at <br />the Temporary Upgrade Assignment Pay rate for each <br />full day that he is assigned to the higher-level <br />position, retroactive to the first (1't) day of said <br /> <br />17 <br />
