Older campers usually attend more field trips
than our younger participants.

Ratios

The YMCA of Orange County follows the guidelines of accreditation created by the American
Camping Association. All camps maintain the recommended staff to camper ratios:

Pre-K (3-5 year olds)
Discovery (1 sl - 3rd graders)
Adventure (4th - 6th graders)
Teens (th - 9th graders)
LIT's (101h -12th graders)

1 counselor for every 6 campers
1 counselor for every 8 campers
1 counselor for every 10 campers
1 counselor for every 10 campers
1 counselor for every 10 campers

Additional trained camp staff members attend field trips, so campers can safely enjoy the
outing in smaller groups with greater adult supervision.

YMCA of Orange County policy states that campers are never to be left alone without the
direct supervision of a trained camp staff member. Therefore we strategically plan all activities
to be led and monitored by camp staff, ensuring that the camper's needs are always in our
sight.

\VOAY CAM~

We build strong kids, strong families, strong communities.
