<br />,,' <br /> <br />.. -," <br /> <br />" ,. . <br />, , ' <br />'\ <br /> <br />means a system of antennas, c~bl~., amplifiers, towers, <br />microwave links, cablecasting studios, and any other con- <br />ductors, converters, equipment or facilities, designed and <br />constructed for the primary purpose of distributing video <br />programming to home subscribers, and the secondary purpose <br />of producing, receiving, amplifying, storing, processing, or <br />distributing audio, video, digital, or other forms of electronic <br />or electrical signals. <br /> <br />1.7 "Cablecast Signal" means a non-broadcast signal <br />that originates withln the facilities of the Cable Television <br />System. <br /> <br />1.8 "Channel" means a six Megahertz(MHz) frequency <br />bank, which is capable of carrying either one standard video <br />signal, a number of audio, digital or other non-video signals, <br />or some combination of such signals. <br /> <br />1.9 "City" means the City of Santa Ana, a municipal <br />corporation of the State of California, and all the territory <br />within its present and future corporate boundaries. <br /> <br />1.10 "City Council" means the Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana, or such representative person or entity as may be <br />designated initially or at some future date to act on cable <br />television matters. <br /> <br />1.10.1 "Commercial Service" or "Commercial Programming <br />means that Grantee or Grantor lS receivlng a fee or derivlng <br />income from the service. <br /> <br />1.11 "Commercial Subscriber" means a subscriber who <br />receives a service in a place of business, where the service <br />may be utilized in connection with a business, trade or <br />profession. <br /> <br />1.12 "Community Cable Citizens Board" means a board <br />created in accordance wlth Section 900 of the Charter of the <br />City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />1.13 "Converter" means an electronic device which con- <br />verts signal carriers from one form to another. <br /> <br />1.14 "Educational Channel", "Educational Access Channel" <br />means any channel where educational institutlons are the <br />only designated programmers. <br /> <br />1.15 "FCC" means the Federal Communications Commission, <br />or a designated representative. <br /> <br />1.16 "Franchise" means this signed and notarized agreement <br />on the part of both Grantor and Grantee accepting and agreeing <br />to all of the provisions of the franchise granted by ordinance <br /> <br />-3- <br />
