" ". . <br /> <br />~- <br /> <br />, , <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Peak to Valley <br /> <br />A sweep recovery system transmitter is installed at the <br />headend with a receiver in the field connected to a <br />bidger port via 100 foot calibrated test jumper. <br />System peak-to-valley is recorded after compensating 5 <br />dB for allowance for system tilt. Both upstream and <br />downstream directions are to be tested. Measurements <br />are to be made in accordance with test equipment manu- <br />facturer's standard procedure. <br /> <br />PERFORMANCE STANDARD FOR NON-VIDEO DATA TRANSMISSIONS <br /> <br />It is the responsibility of the City of Santa Ana to obtain <br />written approval from the California Public Utilities Commission <br />if such approval is necessary for the transmission of non-video <br />data. <br /> <br />The following specification shall be considered an interim stan- <br />dard and reviewed on a yearly basis and modified, if necessary, <br />as agreed upon by representatives of Operator and the City. <br />The representatives shall meet during the first week in February <br />each year, or more often as necessary. <br /> <br />The Operator shall have the sole responsibility to develop, <br />maintain, and, update a one year written implementation plan, for <br />the testing, and maintenance of non-vieo data transmissions, and <br />to carry out the provisions of the written implementation plan. <br />During such time the Operator shall become knowledgeable and <br />experienced in the area of data transmissions. The plan shall be <br />developed by the Operator, and a copy filed with the City, within <br />6 months of acceptance of this agreement. <br /> <br />The following minimum performance standards shall be achieved by <br />the Operator for I-NET transmissions of non-video from any origi- <br />nation point on the I-NET to any delivery point on the I-NET. <br />For the purposes of this section, the terms "origination point," <br />"delivery point," and "termination" shall include an interconnec- <br />tion point with the subscriber cable network in Santa Ana, <br />designated by franchise as the "AI" cable. The operator is not <br />specifically required to have subscriber network facilities at the <br />same locations as I-NET user locations. <br /> <br />Bit error rate end-to-end, including data moderns (encrypting or <br />clear at any speed): less than «) 1 in 10-7 bits <br /> <br />MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />Routine Maintenance <br /> <br />The Operator shall provide fully trained and properly equipped <br />maintenance staffing sufficient to insure achievement of the <br />minimum performance specifications listed above. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
