Hood Manufacturing <br />manufactures fiberglass products used in the production of golf carts, fishponds, <br />landscaping materials, etc. The company was founded in 1945 in Los Angeles County, <br />but has been in Santa Ana since 1978. Mr. Hood currently has a workforce of 45. <br />employees, many of whom have been with the company for several years. <br /> <br />Mr. Hood is very knowledgeable about employment and economic development issues. . <br />He has used the Enterprise Zone tàx incentives, and knows the importance of having tl1e <br />right workforce. Mr. Hood is currently a member of the Board of Directors for tl1e <br />American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA). ACMA is the world's <br />largest trade association serving the composites industry. <br /> <br />Mr. Hood firmly believes that good employees always determine the success of a <br />business, and that good employees have to be rewarded with good pay and a good work <br />environment. At Hood Manufacturing, every precaution is taken to make sure tl1at <br />employees have safe working conditions, and appropriate training. Presently, Mr. Hood <br />is looking at having many of his employees certified in the composites field. <br /> <br />Mr. Hood is very interested in joining the Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board. He . <br />feels that training our current and future workforce is essential to k-eeping businesses <br />locally.
