SURPLUS BUILDING After considering Surplus Property Report <br />SPR 70-9 70-9 regarding one-stOry residence at <br /> 1401 W. First Street, Council declared the <br />building surplus and authorized demolition, on motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded <br />by Councilman Patterson, on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES:. Herrin, Evans, Patterson, Villa, Yamamoto <br />NOES: Markel <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Griset <br /> <br />SUMMER YOUTH TRANSPORTATION The City Council considered the staff <br />PROJECT report on the Summer Youth Transportation <br /> Project sponsored by the National League <br />of Cities and the United States Conference of Mayors. Councilmen Markel and Herrin <br />expressed their opposition to the program being handled by use of Federal funds. <br />Councilman Markel stated his opinion that this project could be handled by local <br />service clubs. Councilman Herrin stated he thought an actual need for this type <br />of project should be determined and if a need were shown, it should be handled <br />by the local citizens and not by the Federal government. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Villa, seconded by Councilman Patterson, Council <br />approved the support of the Summer Youth Transportation Project sponsored by <br />the National League of Cities and the United States Conference of Mayors, on the <br />following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Evans, Patterson, Villa, Yamamoto, <br />Herrin, Markel <br />None <br /> <br />Griset <br /> <br />DEEDS, NO CASH On motion of Councilman Herrin, <br />GRANTEE, CITY seconded by Councilman Patterson and <br /> unanimously carried, Council ordered filed <br />the report of No-Cash Deeds accepted by the City Manager, pursuant to Resolution <br />69-156, from May 14, 1970 through May 27, 1970. <br /> <br />DEEDS, NO CASH On motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded <br />GRANTOR, CITY by Councilman Patterson and unanimously <br /> carried, Council authorized execution of <br />the following Deeds by the Mayor and Clerk: <br /> <br />Various owners, north side of First, west of Tustin, vehicular access <br />rights; <br /> <br />Various owners, east side of Fairview, south of MacArthur, vehicular <br />access rights. <br /> <br />DEEDS WITH CASH <br />GRANTEE, CITY <br /> <br />of escrow by the Mayor: <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Patterson, <br />seconded by Councilman Villa, to approve <br />the following Deeds and authorize execution <br /> <br />TOHOP No. 1038, Inc., east side of Main, north of Owens, street <br />purposes; <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL -150- June 1, 1970 <br /> <br /> <br />
