COMMUNITY ACTION COUNCIL The Mayor stated that in Executive <br /> Session the Council determined an <br /> appointment to the Community <br />Action Council. On motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded by Council- <br />man Patterson, and unanimously carriedj Councilman Vernon S. Evans <br />was appointed as the Council representative to the CAC Board of Directors, <br />with Councilman Harry K. Yamamoto as alternate. <br /> <br />THE IRVINE COMPANY On motion of Councilman Patterson, <br /> seconded by Councilman Evans, <br /> and unanimously carried, Council <br />denied as outrageous the $1,000,000 claim filed by The Irvine Company <br />against the City of Santa Ana in connection with the proposed annexation <br />of 938 acres of industrial properly south of the Marine Corps helicopter <br />station northwest of Harvard Avenue and Barranca Road. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING The Mayor opened the public <br />STREET VACATION hearing on the proposed vacation <br />ALTON AND SUSAN of Alton Avenue between Susan <br /> Street and the Pacific Electric <br />Railway Crossing. There were no proponents or opponents in this <br />matter, and the Clerk reported no written communications had been <br />received. The Mayor declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 71-67 ORDERING THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF <br />ALTON AVENUE BETWEEN SUSAN STREET AND THE PACIFIC <br />ELECTRIC RAILWAY CROSSING AND RESERVING AN EASEMENT <br />THEREIN FOR PUBLIC UTILITIES was adopted, on motion of Council - <br />man Evans, seconded by Councilman Herrin, on the following roll call <br />vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Evans, Herrin, Villa, Griset, Yamamoto, Patterson <br />Markel <br />None <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING The Planning Director rep. orted <br />AMENDMENT APPLICATION #684 briefly on Amendment Application <br />HILBERT M. MUELLER #684 filed by Hilbert M. Mueller <br /> proposing to prezone property in <br />the A 1 District (in Orange County), located on the east side of Old Grand <br />Street between Grovemont Street and Santa Clara Avenue, to the R 1 <br />District. <br /> <br />The Mayor opened the public hearing. There were no opponents in this <br />matter; the sole proponent was Gary Woods, 1413 E. Keegan Way; and <br />the Clerk reported no written communications had been received.
