SUMMER SUPPORT PROGRAM Councilman Villa commended the <br /> Recreation and Parks Department <br /> for the magnificent work they have <br />done in connection with the Summer Support Program. <br /> <br />SOUTHERN PACIFIC The City Manager requested <br />TRANSPOiRTATION COMPANY approval of an agreement between <br /> the City of Santa Ana and the <br />Southern Pacific Transportation Company for installation of a 14-inch water <br />line in Dyer Road at the SPTC railroad crossing. Agreement was approved <br />on motion of Councilman Patterson, seconded by Councilman Yamamoto and <br />unanimously carr-ied. <br /> <br />U.S. MARINE CORPS The City Manager requested approval <br />MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT of an agreement between the City <br /> of Santa Ana and the United States <br />Marine Corps Lighter -than-Air Facility providing mutual responsibility in <br />answering fire calls in areas where we cannot individually combat the <br />conflagration. Agreement was approved and its execution by the Mayor and <br />Clerk was authorized on motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded by Council- <br />man Patterson, and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA To. e City Manager stated that the <br />WATER COMPANY City of Santa Ana has had a lease <br /> agreement with the Southern <br />California Water Company for some time wherein the City accepted <br />responsibility for a small piece of property cut off from their operating <br />property in the Santa Anita area; that the Junior Chamber proposes to <br />construct recreational facilities on the property, primariiy for small children; <br />that the Water Company now wants to deed property to the City, but wants <br />credit for it for tax purposes; and has presented a check in the amount of <br />$3,800 which would be used by the City to purchase the property. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Yamamoto, seconded by Councilman Villa, and <br />unanimously carried, Council accepted the gift of $3~ 800 from the Southern <br />California Water Company, and authorized opening of an escrow and transfer <br />of funds necessary to accomplish acquisition of the property at west Figueroa <br />Street north of Fifth Street for $3,800. <br /> <br />RECESS At 5:05 P.M~, the meeting was <br /> recessed to the "Gettin~to Know <br /> You" buffet dinner at the City <br />Hall Annex. The meeting reconvened at 7:30 P. M., with all Council members <br />present, Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the Invocation was <br />given by the Rev.
