SOLICITATION APPLICATIONS - (Continued) <br /> <br />The following solicitation application was approved on motion of Councilman <br />Herrin, seconded by Councilman Evans, and unanimously carried: <br /> <br />CYSTIC FIBROSIS RESEARCH FOUNDATION, Orange County <br />Chapter, 1784 W. Lincoln, Anaheim, door-to-door volunteer <br />solicitation, September 1 through September 30, 1971. <br /> <br />VARIANCES AND The following applications were <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMITS received and ordered filed, on <br /> motion of Councilman Herrin, <br />seconded by Councilman Evans, and unanimously carried: <br /> <br />EX 71-8, JUAN VERJIL - To allow a 20% modification of <br />the required 4' side yard in the R 1 District at 4318 W. <br />Kent Street; APPROVED. <br /> <br />EX 71-9, HUMBLE OIL & REFINING COMPANY - To waive <br />the required 6' high wall between a service station and <br />property in the R 1 andR' 2 Districts at 1301 E. 17th Street; <br />APPROVED. <br /> <br />VA 71-37, MARK III CONSTRUCTION - To construct an <br />additional unit above the allowable number in the R 3 zone <br />at 1137 S. Poplar Street; APPROVED. <br /> <br />Councilman Herrin's motion, seconded by Councilman Patterson, to <br />receive and file VA 7i-3~~ of the Ebell Society of Santa Ana Valley to <br />allow an auto rel~ir business in an existing building in the R 3 H District <br />at 511 E. Santa Ana Boulevard, failed to carry on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />None <br />Herrin, Patterson, Villa, Evans, Griset, Yamamoto, Markel <br />None <br /> <br />Prior to voting, Councilman Markel stated that this type of business has <br />occupied the building for approximately 30 years; that it will undoubtedly <br />be a long time before the atmosphere of the area will change; and that this <br />would be a good source of income for the Ebell Society. Councilman Evans <br />stated he believes this is a compatible use at the present time; and after <br />further discussion, Cour~an Villa's motion, seconded by Councilman Markel, <br />to set the matter for public hearing at the next regular meeting of the Council <br />on September 7, 197t, was unanimously carried. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Patterson, seconded by Councilman Evans, and <br />unanimously carried, the following Conditional Use Permit application was <br />set for public hearing at the next regular meeting of the Council on September <br />7, 197h <br /> <br />CUP 71-17, ERNEST & LILLIAN R. CAPP - To allow a pre- <br />school and day care center in the R 2 District at 1630 E. Palm <br />Avenue; APPROVED. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL -278- August 16, 1971 <br /> <br /> <br />
