Mr. Villa stated that under the urban renewal and model cities <br />programs developers are compelled to give relocation assistance. <br /> <br />Mr. Foxx requested that the public hearing be continued to a date <br />when it could start at 7:30 P.M. to give more people a chance to <br />comment. <br /> <br />The Mayor stated that Council was not in a position to continue <br />the public hearing and that people could have stayed if they had <br />wanted to. <br /> <br />The Clerk reported that a statement had been filed by the Con- <br />cerned Citizens Committee, signed by 84 businessmen in the City. <br /> <br />Councilman Griset's motion to receive and file the statement favor- <br />ing the Redevelopment Plan was seconded by Councilman Yamamoto, <br />and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />Commissioner Griset moved that the Community Redevelopment Agency <br />refer the Report on the Redevelopment Plan to the Santa Ana City <br />Council. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Ward and carried <br />on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Griset, Ward, Garthe, Patterson, Yamamoto <br /> <br />NOES: Evans <br /> <br />ABSENT: Markel <br /> <br />Councilman Griset's motion to receive and file the amended Report <br />on the Redevelopment Plan dated June 25, 1973, was seconded by <br />Councilman Yamamoto, and carried on the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Griset, Yamamoto, Garthe, Patterson, Ward <br /> <br />NOES: Evans, Markel <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Councilman Griset's motion to close the public hearing on the <br />Redevelopment Plan, Ordinance NS-1173, and the hearing concerning <br />comments on the Report on the Redevelopment Plan, and to overrule <br />all written and oral objections presented at the public hearing, <br />was seconded by Councilman Ward, and carried on the following <br />vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Griset, Ward, Garthe, Patterson, Yamamoto <br /> <br />NOES: Evans, Markel <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Prior to voting, the Mayor stated that he was pleasantly surprised <br />at the number of people who had come to the hearing and delighted <br />to find that 90% of them appeared to be in favor of redevelopment <br />in spite of some of the incorrect information that had been <br />circulated on the subject. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NS-1173 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA; INCORPORAT- <br />ING SAID PLAN BY REFERENCE; SETTING FORTH THE PURPOSES AND INTENT <br />OF SAID PROJECT AREA; DESIGNATING THE APPROVED PLAN AS THE OFFICIAL <br />REDEVELOPMENT PLAN OF THE PROJECT AREA; MAKING FINDINGS AND <br />DETERMINATIONS AS REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW; PROVIDING FOR THE <br />EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS BY SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY SAID PLAN; <br />DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO UNDERTAKE AND COMPLETE ANY AND ALL <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />233 JUNE 2S, 1973 <br /> <br /> <br />
