TBNTATIVE PARCEL MAP #845 - Filed by Cabot, <br />Cabot and Forbes, creating four (4) M 1 parcels <br />for industrial uses located generally on the <br />southeast corner of Carriage Drive and Harbor <br />Boulevard, (CA 25) <br /> <br />TENTATIVE PARCEL MAP #846 - Filed by Hodges <br />Building Corp., creating two (2) M 1 parcels <br />for industrial uses located generally on the <br />northwest corner of Grand Avenue and Normandy <br />Place. (CA 25) <br /> <br />Council discussion included concern for the number of small-lot <br />developments which create driveways on main arterials resulting <br />in accidents and traffic congestion. <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Norman and Helen Nelson, <br />NORMAN & HELEN NELSON ~nterior decorators and <br /> operators of an antique <br /> shop at 109 East 7th <br />Street, in the old "Waffle House" requested Council assistance <br />to preserve the historical building (Council Minutes of the <br />Adjourned Regular Meeting of October 15, 1975. They further <br />suggested that the intersection of 7th and Bush Streets be <br />designated a "heritage square". <br /> <br />Charles Irwin, Curator, Bowers Memorial Museum, urged Council <br />to consider~a comprehensive, historic preservation program, <br />which would include a heritage square concept, in conjunction <br />with the downtown Redevelopment Plan. <br /> <br />The consensus of Council was that the Waffle House should be <br />preserved by community effort. Reports were requested from <br />staff and the Cultural Heritage Committee for the December 17 <br />meeting. (CA 85.1) <br /> <br />RECESS At 5:35 P.M. Council <br /> recessed to dinner at <br /> Mercy General Hospital. <br /> The meeting reconvened <br />at 7:35 P.M. with all Councilmen present. Following the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the invocation was given by <br />Col. M. Agnew, Salvation Army. (CA 80.17) <br /> <br />COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT <br />MERCY GENERAL HOSPITAL <br /> <br />introduced Stephen Evans, <br /> <br /> The Mayor acknowledged <br /> Mercy General Hospital <br /> who had been invited to <br /> give a presentation, and <br />Administrator, of the hospital. <br /> <br />Mr. Evans highlighted the facilities, equipment, programs, <br />services and care of the hospital, and introduced Chief of <br />Staff, Dr.~Ered Kahn. <br /> <br />Dr. Kahn introduced members of the hospital staff. <br />(CA 9.3) <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />455 <br /> <br />DECEMBER b0, 1973 <br /> <br /> <br />
