ORAL COMMUNICATION Councilman Markel stated <br />CUL-DE-SAC REQUEST that it had been brought <br /> to his attention several <br /> times during the past <br />two weeks that the property owners on the north-south streets <br />north of the Civic Center between Ross and Flower Streets have <br />been solicited by investor-developers for the sale of their <br />property. He suggested that the streets be "cul-de-saced" <br />approximately 200 feet north of Civic Center Drive to encourage <br />preservation of their residential character. (CA 29.1) <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Councilman Garthe announced <br />PRIDE IN CITY that the Pride in City <br /> organization is holding <br /> a breakfast on March 1, <br />1974 at 7:30 A.M. at Bullocks, Fashion Square, North Main <br />Street. He urged staff and Council to attend and advised that <br />tickets could be obtained by dialing 979-3189. (CA 9.11) <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION At 4:35 P.M., Council <br /> recessed for Executive <br /> Session to consider <br /> personnel and legal <br />matters, by unanimous informal consent. Council reconvened <br />at 5:40 P.M. with all Councilmen present. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT At 4:35 P.M., the <br />AGENCY Community Redevelopment <br /> Agency reconvened from <br /> its recess at 2:30 P.M., <br />and immediately recessed for an Executive Session to consider <br />legal and personnel matters. The Agency meeting was recon- <br />vened at 5:40 P.M. and immediately adjourned, on the <br />unanimously approved motion of Commissioner Yamamoto, seconded <br />by Commissioner Ward. <br /> <br />RECESS At 5:40 P.M., Council <br /> recessed for dinner <br /> until 7:30 P.M., at <br /> which time it reconvened <br />with all Council members present. Following the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag, led by Explorer Post 238, the <br />Invocation was given by Chaplain Herman Baerg, Orange County <br />Medical Center. (CA 9.10; CA 80.17) <br /> <br />SANTA ANA MOBILE INTENSIVE Fire Chief Judd intro- <br />CARE PARAMEDICS duced the Santa Aha Mobile <br /> Intensive Care Paramedics <br />to the Council and the audience. He spoke of their intensive <br />training and the fine work they are doing in saving people's <br />lives. Elaine Siner and Barbara Parker, nurses who participate <br />in the program, were also introduced. Miss Siner explained one <br />of the rescue programs. Dr. John Philp, Orange County Health <br />Officer, gave a detailed description of the training program. <br /> <br />Jane Mangold, President of the Southern California Edison Wives' <br />Club, told of the Club's donation to the City of Santa Ana of <br />an "oxy-cart" unit for use in the paramedic van. <br /> <br />A review of the equipment followed in the plaza.
