IMPROVEMENT OF Council received <br />SANTA ANITA AREA the report, dated <br /> April 9,1975, from <br /> the Director of <br />Public Works, recommending.certain improvements to the <br />alleys in the Santa Anita area as well as the installation <br />of a lighting system. <br /> <br />The City Manager further reported that the Orange County <br />Human Relations Commission had filed a formal complaint <br />with the Department of Housing and Urban DeveloPment~ in <br />accordance with its staff recommendation, against the <br />City's Community Development Program application. (He <br />provided the Council with copies.) He added that the <br />Commission had also generated reports on the Santa Anita <br />alley situation and "Violence in Southwest Santa Aha". <br /> <br />Acting on the recommendation of the City Manager, all of <br />the matters, alleys, violence, and the Community Develop- <br />ment formal complaint, were referred to the City's Human <br />Relations Commission, with Council emphasis on their local <br />issue status, for report and recommendation to Council on <br />May 5, on the unanimously approved motion (7-0) of Council- <br />man Evans, seconded by Councilman Brandt. CA 140.20 <br /> <br />U.S. CONFERENCE OF MAYORS On motion of <br />BICENTENNIAL R~GIONAL M~ETING Councilman Evans, <br />APRIL 24 - 26 seconded by Coun- <br /> cilman Ward, Council <br />unanimously (7-0) authorized Councilman Bricken to attend <br />the U.S. Conference of Mayors' Bicentennial Regional <br />Meeting in Las Vegas, April 24-26; and in the event Council- <br />man Bricken cannot attend, that Reilly Rhodes is authorized <br />to attend; and that the $5S.00 registration fee for <br />Bicentennial Committee Chairman Gene Moriarty be paid by <br />the City for his attendance at the Conference. CA 47 <br /> <br />RECRUITMENT OF The City Council <br />CITY ATTORNEY approved.the job <br /> specification for <br /> City Attorney and <br />approved the proposed recruitment procedure on the motion- <br />of Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman Brandt, and CA 50.1 <br />unanimously carried (7-0).
