PROCLAMATION A proclamation <br />PRESENTATIONS designating April <br /> through April 12, <br /> i975 as "Barber- <br />shop Harmony Week" was presented by the Mayor to Richard <br />Lewis, representing the Santa Aha Chapter of the Society <br />for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop <br />Quartet Singing in America, following several selections <br />from the Chapter Quartet. <br /> <br />A proclamation designating April 20 through April 26, 1975 <br />as "Realtor Week" was presented to Mrs. Molly Doughty, Santa <br />Aha Realty, by Vice Mayor Vernon S. Evans. CA 46 <br /> <br />COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT Mrs. Taft Fox, <br />EDUCATIONAL EXTENSION CLUB Co-founder and <br /> President of the <br /> Educational Exten- <br />sion Club of California, Inc. was presented with a City <br />Emblem plaque by Councilman Ortiz following a presenta- <br />tion describing the Club's purpose as providing scholar- <br />ships for outstanding students in need of financial <br />assistance to further their education. <br /> <br />CA 9.3 <br /> <br />BICENTENNIAL COMMITTEE Mr. Gene Moriarty, <br />RESOLUTION Chairman of the <br /> Bicentennial Com- <br /> mittee, reported <br />that the Committee, with some regret, but in the "best <br />interests of all concerned", decided to lend its support <br />to the City of Anaheim proposal to host the "Freedom <br />Train" at the Angels Stadium. He requested that the City <br />Council adopt the Committee's suggested resolution by <br />minute motion. <br /> <br />The suggested minute motion was approved, with regret, on the <br />unanimously carried motion of Councilman Bricken, seconded <br />by Councilman Ward. CA 42.5 <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />APPEAL NO. 547 <br />MINOR EXCEPTION 75-5 <br />NEGATIVE DECLARATION <br /> <br />the Public Hearing to consider <br /> <br /> Mayor Garthe <br /> stated that <br /> this was the <br /> time and place <br /> scheduled for <br />the Appeal filed by <br /> <br />Messrs. Roy Douglas and Norm Phillips from the Zoning <br />Administrator's denial of their application for a Minor <br />Exception to waive a portion of the required parking <br />for a take-out sandwich shop in the M 1 District, at <br />3919 West Warner Avenue. <br /> <br />Staff orally reviewed the Finding of Fact dated March 17, <br />1975, including the reasons for denial. <br /> <br />Proponent Mr. Roy Douglas described his proposed business, <br />stating that the need for parking would be minimal; and <br />that ample additional parking is available within the <br />industrial complex location of his shop. <br /> <br />There were no opponents and no other proponents, and the <br />Clerk reported that no written communications had been <br />received. <br /> <br />The Mayor closed the Public Hearing. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 145 APRIL 14, 1975 <br /> <br /> <br />
