INVOCATION Following the Pledge <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE of Allegiance to the <br /> Flag, given by Girl <br /> Scout Troop No. 1065, <br />under the leadership of Mrs. Almond Cradel, Father Bob <br />Miller, of St. Joseph's Church, gave the Invocation. CA 9.10 <br /> CA 80.17 <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION PRESENTATIONS A Proclamation pro- <br /> claiming the week of <br /> May 11 through May 17, <br /> 1975 as "Police Week" <br />in honor of the Santa Aha Police Department was presented <br />by Councilman Brandt to Police Chief Raymond Davis. <br /> <br />A Proclamation designating the week of May 12 through 18 as <br />"Salvation Army Week" was presented to Major Tom Cisar by <br />Councilman Ward. <br /> <br />A Proclamation designating the month of May as "Anti-Litter <br />Month" was presented to Sam Bowman by Councilman Yamamoto. <br /> <br />A Proclamation in recognition of Cinco de Mayo (May $) was <br />presented to Mr. Tony Luna, representing the Santa Ana <br />Chamber of Commerce, by Councilman Ortiz. CA 46 <br /> <br />COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT Mrs. Anne Croddy <br />JR. AUXILIARY OF THE Schauwecker, President <br />ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF SANTA ANA of the Auxiliary, was <br /> presented with a City <br />Emblem plaque by Mayor Garthe,. following her presentation <br />describing the Club's philanthropies. She stated that their <br />members are all volunteers between the ages of 20 and 58; <br />that this year they had donated 6,500 hours at their dental <br />clinic for Santa Ana school children; that they staffed the <br />Senior League's thrift shop two days per month; and that they <br />are celebrating their 2Sth year. Mrs. Lee Stayton further <br />described the activities of the Junior Auxiliary of the <br />Assistance League. CA 9.5 <br /> <br />SPECIAL PRESENTATION Former Mayor Vernon <br />OF COMMENDATORY PLAQUES S. Evans, and former <br /> Vice Mayor Harry K. <br /> Yamamoto were pre- <br />sented with commendatory plaques by Mayor Garthe in apprecia- <br />tion and recognition by the City Council of their personal <br />contributions while serving in their respective offices for <br />the period of December 21, 1974 through April ?, 1975. CA <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING Mayor Garthe announced <br />ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 257 that this was the time <br />QUIGLEY LANE SEWER and place fixed for <br /> the hearing of appeals <br />or objections to the confirmation of the assessment in the <br />matter of certain improvements in Assessment District No. <br />237, Quigley Lane. <br /> <br />The City ~lerk stated that Notice of the filing of the Assess- <br />ment and of the time and place for hearing were duly and <br />regularly published, posted and mailed, all as prescribed <br />by law~ and that the following affidavits showing such com- <br />pliance were on file in her office: ~ <br /> <br />1) Affidavit of Publication <br />2) Certificate of Mailing <br /> <br />C~T¥ COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />184 MAY S, 1975 <br /> <br /> <br />
