PROPOSED WARD BOUNDARY The proposed ward <br />REALIGNMENT boundary realignment, <br /> presented in the <br /> Manager's report dated <br />May 8, 197S, was referred back to staff for further study <br />in meetings to be scheduled with Councilmen Evans and Brandt <br />for subsequent report to Council, on the motion of Council- <br />man Ward, seconded by Councilman Brandt,.and carried (?-0) <br />unanimously. CA 108 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION The report of the <br />BICENTENNIAL ACTIVITIES Public Information <br /> Officer to the Council <br /> relating to Projected <br />Bicentennial Costs ~as received and filed on the motion of <br />Councilman Yamamoto, seconded by Councilman Ortiz, and <br />carried (7-0). '; .' <br /> <br />Councilman:Bricken said that several weeks 'ago the Council <br />discussed the question of a Bicentennial Program for the City; <br />that he had met with Mayor Garthe, Museum Director Reilly <br />Rhodes and Public Information Officer Frank Blaszcak concern- <br />ing ideas for a program; ~hat a number of good ideas were <br />considered and some were rejected because of high cost; that <br />the list of ideas contained in the report are for Council <br />information at this point, as they are not yet prepared to <br />submit a total program; that it is their hope to make all <br />citizens aware that Santa Ana is an official Bicentennial <br />Community by use of the Bicentennial logo; that the most <br />exciting idea in the report is Mr. Rhodes' suggestion of a <br />week long celebration built essentially around the Fourth of <br />July, including such events as a breakfast, a tennis tourna- <br />ment, golf open tournament, public tours, and a fireworks <br />display; that this would be an annual event thereafter; that <br />possibly non-profit organizations, as well as the Fire <br />Department and Recreation and Parks Department, could hold <br />fund raising events during that week. CA 42.5 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION The following <br />RESOLUTION 75-75 Resolution was <br />WAFFLE HOUSE unanimously adopted <br /> by title only on <br />the motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman Evans: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 75-75 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DESIGNATING THE CITY MANAGER <br />AS THE AUTHORIZED OFFICER TO CONDUCT ALL NEGOTIATIONS <br />TO OBTAIN GRANT-IN AID UNDER THE NATIONAL HISTORIC <br />PRESERVATION ACT FOR THE HOWE-WAFFLE AND CARRIAGE HOUSE. <br /> CA 8S.ld <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Mrs. Evelyn Hunter, <br />EVELYN HUNTER 1739 W. Camile Place, <br /> said that the trees <br /> in front of her house <br />were infested with insects, and that she would like to have <br />them sprayed; that the street needed sweeping; that after <br />several requests of the City nothing had been done. Mr. <br />Spragg, City Manager, assured Mrs. Hunter that someone <br />from his office would talk to her to resolve the problems. <br /> .....
