Mr. Durham was also <br />recognized by his employer, the La Habra Police Department, <br />with the Legion of Merit Medal. <br /> <br />CA 73B <br /> <br />COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT A City tile was <br />COMMUNITY SERVICES FOR THE BLIND presented to the <br /> founder of the <br /> Community Services <br />for the Blind, Dr. Wil DiNijs, for its outstanding service <br />to the City of Santa Ana. Dr. DiNijs said that his organ- <br />ization was founded 10 years ago; that there are presently <br />S71 blind or visually impaired adults who have well-paying <br />jobs or businesses, 150 blind elderly who have found a new <br />lease on life and 63 blind youth who have been helped through <br />adolescence; and 200 children have received primary learning <br />experiences to complement their school education. He stated <br />that he presently has 57 "basket cases" in the public schools <br />Who were given up by the professionals and they are holding <br />their own. He thanked the citizens of Santa Ana for their <br />help during the past 10 years.
