On the motion of Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman <br />Ward, and unanimously (5-0) carried, the Staff was <br />directed to accept the Appeal Application for CUP 75-7 <br />at 418 South Forest without the required fee, with the <br />understanding that said fee would be paid October 1, <br />1975. <br /> <br />CA 13.4 <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENT #16 Appropriation Ad- <br /> justment #16 trans- <br /> ferring Revenue <br /> Sharing Funds to <br />fund the Civic Center Graphics program was continued to <br />September 2, 1975 on the motion of Councilman Ward, seconded <br />by Councilman Bricken and carried (4-1) with Councilman Evans <br />dissenting. CA 65.3 <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Following the Pledge <br />INVOCATION of Allegiance to the <br /> Flag led by Eagle <br /> Scout John Whitfield <br />and American Legion Post 131, the invocation was given by <br />Bishop Thomas L. Thorkelson of the Church of Jesus Christ of <br />Latter Day Saints. CA 9.10 <br /> CA 80.17 <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION Mayor Garthe presented <br />MARATHON SOFTBALL WEEKEND a Proclamation entitled <br /> "Marathon Softball <br /> Weekend" to the team <br />members and captain, Clark Hill, of the Twenty-first Street <br />Mean Machine softball team to highlight their attempt to break <br />a world record for continuous innings of softball to begin <br />Friday, August 22, 1975 at 6:00 p.m. at Santiago Park. The <br />Mayor commended the team for its effort to put their team, <br />as well as Santa Ana, in the Guinness Book of Records. CA 46 <br /> <br />SPECIAL PRESENTATION Mr. Gene Moriarty, <br />ANNUAL REPORT OF SANTA ANA Chairman of the Santa <br />BICENTENNIAL COMMITTEE Ana Bicentennial <br /> Committee, presented <br />his written annual report and a copy of "The Tattler" news- <br />letter, to the Council; he also presented Certificates of <br />Appreciation to each Councilman for the part they played in <br />establishing the Bicentennial Committee. <br /> <br />Councilman Evans moved and Councilman Yamamoto seconded his <br />motion to waive reading of Resolution No. 75-120 and to con- <br />sider it by title only; the motion was carried ($-0) and the <br />Clerk read the title as follows: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 75-120 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DESIGNATING <br />SEPTEMBER 21-27, 1975, AS SANTA ANA BICENTENNIAL <br />WEEK.
