PUBLIC HEARING Mayor Garthe announced <br />VA 75-28 - VERSAILLES INVESTORS that this was the time <br /> and place set by the <br /> City Council for the <br />Public Hearing on Variance Application No. 75-28 of Versailles <br />Investors to permit the permanent use of two existing tempor- <br />ary signs in the R4 District at 3700 Plaza Drive. <br /> <br />The Director of Planning reviewed the application and the <br />reasons for the Planning Commission approval. He presented <br />slides in describing the signs, their use and location. <br /> <br />Vita Vascassenno, spoke for the applicant and stated that the <br />applicant is in agreement with the conditions of the Findings <br />of Fact of the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />There being no further comments either for or against the <br />Variance Application, the Mayor closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />The Determination of Exemption and the Planning Commission <br />Findings of Fact were received and filed on the motion of <br />Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman Ward and approved <br />(4-1) with Councilman Yamamoto dissenting. <br /> <br />On the motion of Councilman Evans, <br />Ward, the following Resolution was <br />man Yamamoto dissenting: <br /> <br />seconded by Councilman <br />adopted (4-1) with Council- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 75-121 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AFFIRMING THE <br />ACTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION ON VA 75-28 <br />APPROVING SAID VARIANCE APPLICATION FILED BY <br />VERSAILLES INVESTORS DBA: VERSAILLES ON THE LAKE. <br /> <br />CA 13.3a <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING Mayor Garthe ann2unced <br />VA 75-19 SOUTH COAST VILLAGE that this was the time <br /> and place set by the <br /> City Council for the <br />Public Hearing on Variance Application 75-19 of South Coast <br />Village to provide project graphics/signing in excess of the <br />City Sign Ordinance. <br /> <br />The Director of Planning reviewed the application and the <br />reasons for the Planning Commission approval. He presented <br />slides of the shopping center showing the type and use of <br />signs in identifying the various shops. <br /> <br />Claude Keyzers, General Manager of South Coast Village, spoke <br />in favor of the signing project, and outlined the problems <br />the Village has had with attracting customers. He stated <br />that the design of the buildings does not make it obvious <br />from the exterior what merchandise is available for sale; <br />and that the graphic signing proposed is tasteful and subdued <br />in color to harmonize with the styling of the project. <br /> <br />There being no further comments, either for or against the <br />Variance Application, the Mayor closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />The Determination of Exemption and the Planning Commission <br />Findings of Fact were received and filed on the motion of <br />Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman Ward and carried <br />(S-0) <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 362 AUGUST 18, 1975 <br /> <br /> <br />
